Question: I wonder why the Japanese people don't trust TEPCO,
,,, or now, even their "Government"?

Answer: Fukushima and teh burning of Radioctive Debris…

    Great article:

If we don’t, someone else will (and other dubious rationalizations)

    + one of my favorites:

The Japanese Gov't. is in bed with the Nuclear industry…

ATTENTION: Japanese People, NOW almost all your Leaders are in Nuclear Denial* and unless they keep your reactors shut down you may have ONE OR MORE Trillion Dollar Eco-DisasterFukushima's because Fukushima proved that Nature can destroy any land based nuclear reactor, any place anytime 24/7/365!

A year and a half exactly after Fukushima’s Trillion Dollar Eco-Disaster, Japan is now the poster “boy” for Control by the Nuclear Industry and their Utility Gangs:

This is one of the most well written articles on this Debacle…
BTW It contains a great number of links to back up all points…

The BOTTOM LINE is that the Japanese people have N☢ say in how their Gov't deals with Nuclear issues! In effect they now live in a Nuclear Police State!

      Dear CaptD,
'And that’s the bottom line to me: in this small Vietnamese village there seems to be a myth of safety and security associated with nuclear power, combined with a dearth of information. Ordinary citizens have a basic right to know about the proposed facility–in detail– and to have a say in where, how, or even IF it should be constructed. That’s only natural, since it’s their own health at stake. And the environment does not seem to have a spokesperson at all…is there anyone pleading the case of the sea turtles? Or the nearby National Park that could become nothing more than a cesium repository? So far I’ve heard nothing, but my ears are open.' http://wp.me/p1wWyW-jl

      Great link!

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.”

Japan has lost untold amounts of People, Land, wealth, prosperity, health, future generations, but they are at least moving quickly towards nuclear freedom. I wonder what kind of similar losses will happen in the US, Europe, South America, how much will the losses be…more than Fukushima, less than chernobyl…or more than anyone could possibly imagine?

Since the accident Japan has shut down all of their reactors yet restarted 2….more importantly the population is demanding, and voicing their opinion…in the hundreds of thousands, I haven't seen that kind of involvement and determination elsewhere.

yes many moons, you are very right about what the (japanese) population is demanding, and voicing their opinion, and i meant no disrepsect to them or how successful they have been.

i was watching and commentating while many of the demonstrations were in full flight. arclight was also onto of it (where are you?), amongst many others.

i love what's come from the people.

but my reply relates to japan.corp.gov as CaptD has also highlighted. this is my area of concern as they will do all they can to retain the nuke industry. too much is invested in it. millions of superannuation accounts are probaby depending on the future 'payments' (as much as an unlikelyhood you or i may think that will be).

and the other side of the nuke coin is – japan is forever now tainted and condemned to long term nuke misery. the recovery of fukushima alone will go beyond my lifetime and onward to many others. and there are still quakes and tsunamis to come, make no doubt about it – when, not if

are these shutdown plants 'decommissioned' yet, how long will that take?

japan can never find nuke freedom in the forseeable future.. it is poisoned forever (on a human scale).
