Title: Post-crisis Japan: Lingering agony
Source: The Economist
Author: H.T.
Date: Apr 24th 2012

“THEY can’t be Japanese!” a journalist from Tokyo whispered caustically into your correspondent’s ear on hearing the uncharacteristic volume of shouting and heckling at a well-attended town-hall meeting. [...]

On April 21st the Namie residents in Nihonmatsu, where they have been relocated since the evacuation, were shockingly outspoken. [...] the agony of evacuation, and the sense of helplessness and frustration that it has spawned, remain palpable.

[...] There was widespread support for an idea, pushed by Namie officials, to give everyone books to keep track of their health history. It’s astounding this has not been done already.

[...] “We have been mentally, spiritually and morally destroyed,” shouted one man to loud applause. He said the only way parliament could be reminded of how badly their lives were affected would be to move the Diet to the radiated zone near Fukushima Dai-ichi.

[...] In their outspoken anger, they may not sound very Japanese. But some wonder whether the government remembers they are citizens of Japan at all.

Fukushima accident polluted the population –more than the WWII atomic bombs dropped on Japan. Just remember what happened to THOSE people -shunned, ignored. Same for Fukushimas victims….sadly, if you are damaged, you are a throwaway, and ignored. Just go away…

You betcha jec! Post goes threw the heart!

Have been 'damaged' all my life and thrown away.
You speak tremendous TRUTH,…as do the 'thrown away of Japan'!

It is written–Matthew 5:3-12—-3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you".

The local population of Fukushima..is learning the meaning of "absorb in place".
They are being abandoned by their government.
The people are being shamed into suffering in silence.
Lies, deception and corruption by those in power have led to this.
The mental and emotional burden that this is going on ..never eases.
    The good fight continues on.

    For the Japanese-

  • If you have no data then you don't have to do a cover-up and lie.

No testing from the EPA, that's worth anything.
    (saying nothing says a lot)

Same thing happened with Simi Valley, TMI, Chernobyl etc.. Studies were either not done, done pporly or the good ol' plausible denial scam was invoked.

We keep saying how the Japanese people have not been treated properly by their government, yet we, here in the USA, are in the same EXACT boat. (same hemisphere, same planet) Same politicians catering to their contributors. No alerts, no warnings, no public information regarding fallout mitigation. Unbelievable!!!

Controlled by these same mega corporations. Governments which, here anyway, are supposed to be "by the people and for the people", are now controlled and have been for awhile by the mega Corporations. So the reality is, we, the obvious majority, have no real say in these matters. We are told "it's of no concern".

This is bad. It's been getting worse. It will continue to accumulate and spread.

Personally, I think we may not need any studies at this point. (We know what the results are going to be.)

What we need is to STOP NUCLEAR POWER… RIGHT NOW!!! Then again, we wouldn't need any studies. WE could live life the way it's supposed to be. Breathing air, drinking fresh water, eating the fish and growing healthy veggies. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening for a while.

    That's right ChasAha,…NO STUDIES! If a politician says, 'let's do a study',…under the bus he goes! :-(
