Radioactive substances from the soil of the city near the sludge treatment facilities, Tokyo Shimbun, June 8, 2011:
Translation via EX-SKF
Koto Association to Protect Children (江東こども守る会)” held a press conference in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building on June 7, and announced the result of its own survey showing the high level of radioactive cesium detected from the athletic ground near the sewage sludge processing plant “Tobu (eastern) Sluge Plant”.
The survey was done by the Association and Professor Tomoya Yamauchi of Kobe University (radiation measurement). Cesium detected was 230,000 becquerels per square meter, 6 times as high as the limit set for the radiation control zone to restrict one from taking an item out of the control zone. [...]

Nobody’s perfect. Consider good that TEPCO has done.
Uhh, nevermind.

6 times as high as limit set for radiation control zones? Impact reduction statement again?

I’m waiting for a headline:

Its not limited to them Every country with radiation monitoring is in on this jig…
The truth is the jig is up…
The scariest part, is every nation that has rad monitors, governments, has post nuclear attack plans, to secure, the Said liars…
So its really only bad to us. As They simply have backup plans; That fyi: do not include us…
Report Comment
So this basically implies:
Another concerned japanese public agency, has stated as clear as day: if you live in tokyo, you should evacuate… They are lieing to you. constantly and cant be trusted. The scariest part is this is probably the typical level of radiation there. There are likely areas 2-10 times higher… Also even scarier, if that is the cesium reading… Where did all the plutonium go???
Report Comment
I honestly think that the plutonium is not going to be the main problem in the short term.
Plutonium is dense and falls like a rock and won’t float around the atmosphere like Cesium. It is Cesium that will eventually make Tokyo uninhabitable for 300 years or so.
…We still have Cesium floating around in the atmosphere from Chernobyl.
Plutonium on the other hand will sit at the bottom of the sea and the land in the immediate area around the plant, making it uninhabitable for 100K years or more.

I hope that the seriousness in this situation is finaly penertating the Goverment in Japan, and they are starting to react properly.
And in this level all information should be open. easy execable, and everywhere.
Maping is the moust serious part and should be done now. In order to avoid situations that has the potensiale of rapid decay and unrest, the establishment of safe areas is highly important, it gives the people som rest.
The readings is also a product of iviroment like the wathersystems and suage systems, all driven by local watersuply. And that watersuply is probably unsuted for consumtion.
The fear is the continous fallout and radioactiv isotops is mounting.
And the sosial economic and logisticals problem will mount to and this will not go away easily. This fallout may take years, the landscape in Northern and areas surounding Tokyo will never be the same again.
And that senario are allready a fact, and all future prodjects should be facing that perspectiv, and plan acordingly.

I just tried to get:

It says that it is GONE, no longer available on this server.
Anyone know about this?

It’s back up now. There was nothing insidious going on.

Maybe they recorded an alert somewhere and they didn’t want to publish it.

Actually, there are actual graphs of up-to-date findings. Denver did experience a large spike on the precipitation graph a few days ago.

The real data as to the radiation levels WILL NOT be given by the EPA.

Actually the EPA is too busy shielding the oil companies so they can continue fracking the US to death and helping the FDA bust Amish folks for selling raw milk and Elderberry juice.

“230,000 becquerels per square meter of Cesium on athletic field in Koto”: this is higher than the voluntary Chernobyl evacuation zone contamination level, which was 185,000 Bq/m2 of Cesium. And how much of Tokyo is above this level? And how many other places in Japan outside of Fukushima Prefecture?
Questions… Questions…

The US and UN should start thinking about and planing for the extremely large humanitarian effort that could and in all likelihood will be needed.
Japanese stoicism and desire to save face can only take them so far before it begins to be a hindrance to their society
Report Comment
With all respect, you write as if this problem is going to be confined to Japan. All of us, all over the world, will need a humanitarian effort if the radiation continues. But where will that come from, when all the caregivers are sick or dead?
Report Comment
500,000 Becquerels per square meter was the standard for evacuation at Chernobyl. Scientists later discovered that 230,000 Bcq was enough to cause genetic damage, mutations, birth defects, etc.

Koto is right smack dab in the middle of Tokyo. Now this reading was near a sludge plant, so the radiation was concentrated. But if this continues, Tokyo is going to have to be evacuated. 36 million people. It’s impossible. And besides, how much longer will it take for the radiation to reach them wherever they are?

I’ve commented before that dosimeter badges should be issued to all north island Japanese.
Maybe this local (Date city) decision to put badges on all 8000 children is an idea whose time has finally come, and other cities will follow suit.
The badges are read after one month; authorities will probably declare the results invalid, or attempt to raise the acceptable reading, or suppress or alter the data, but hopefully this physical, visible detection method, worn by the kids and seen by everyone, will find public support and finally free the public from the oppressive (U.S. supported), deadly mind-control by the authorities:

Of course, any radioactive materials making it into the sewage treatment plant, undergo a magic transformation into biosolids, whereupon they are no longer dangerous, and suitable for fertilizing pastures and crops.
At least that is the way it is in the US, in Colorado, unless Lowry Landfill leachate no longer contains any radioactive materials.
