At 7:10 in
- Kashiwa City soil near rain spout from someone’s yard @ 97,500 Bq/kg [...]
- That is an exceeding large amount of radioactivity to find in somebody’s soil.
- The most unfortunate place was in a child’s playground, also in Kashiwa City.
- This playground had a radioactivity in dirt that children play on of @ 41,500 Bq/kg.
- I detected Cs-137 and Cs-134.They were so high they clouded everything else. There was nothing else I was able to detect as a result of it.
- Very active, huge amounts of radioactivity.
- Little children play on this everyday.
At 16:15 in
- Here is the soil sample form the child’s park in Kashiwa City.
- This plastic container is actually blocking a lot of the alpha particles.
- When i pulled this out of the sample container, it was about double this.
Thanks to
- People who sent in samples from Japan
- GammaSpectrometry (Yahoo Group)
- Particular someone on YouTube who posts a lot of good research

Excellent work by yet another independent tester.
But… it begs the questions.
WHERE our are 'agencies' who are supposed to do this and WHY are 'they' doing nothing??
WHERE are the academics with PHD's who have access to equipment that would put an immediate end to this guessing. (Although, at this point, it's truly not a guess in my opinion.)
WHERE is the military with all their super fancy testing equipment that we've paid for? Do not the families of our soldiers live on the soil and eat the foods that are being contaminated.
Break the silence.
Evacuate Japan! Stop Nuclear Power!! It's past time!!!
Report Comment
Q:WHERE our are 'agencies'?
A:Building bunkers.
Q:WHERE are the academics with PHD's?
A:Working for the agencies building bunkers.
Q:WHERE is the military with all their super fancy testing equipment that we've paid for?
A:Your money has been diverted to pay for the bunkers.
Q:Where are the owners of these "life killers" (NPP)?
A:Waiting for you to pay off there new home in the bunkers!

Just to be clear, http://Anti-Proton.com/Japan/Report.pdf is the current version. The one linked at the top is technically a pre-release version. =)
The samples J-A and J-B are still hot (they will be after I am no longer around) and I keep them behind lead. It bothers me that I have to keep a few grams of sand from a children's play park sealed, labeled, and behind 1 inch of lead.
I understand that the entire country is having problems, but they just forgave the debt to Burma and yet they have not cleaned this little park. Places where children and pregnant women can be found should be cleaned first.
Women and children come first. That is how it has always been and for good reason. Without women we cease to exist and only through out children to we carry on.

outstanding job. Wish we had a thousand more like you. Have you considered asking for donations and perhaps expanding your ability to test a greater sampling of soils? Keep up this very important work as long as you can.
Report Comment
I will not be taking donations. I have the means and time to do research, and so I think it is something I must do. After my current project at work is finished, I will attend a local university and work towards an MS in physics (right now I have a BS in computer science).
Thanks for the idea. =)

repost from enenews very own vital!!
My Geiger Counter detections in the Southern Hemisphere have been helpful in getting some publicity on the seriousness of the situation at Fukushima. A New Zealand radio station GreenplanetFM aired an interview with me.
The show has been to air and is now available as a podcast for listening on line, or for download. The podcast link is at the top of the page, and the interview starts after a bit of an introduction on synchronicity.
Because it is on a radio station it may carry more weight when trying to convince friends and relatives. It has with mine. So if you can use it as a resource please do. In the Interview I point people to enenews, Fairewinds, Dr Busby and Dr Caldicott.

Hello!
You can always tell Fukushima-brand radio-cesium from those other imitation ones… (dry humor?) Fallout from testing, other accidents (e.g., Chernobyl, Windscale, etc), doesn't typically contain an equilibrium of Cs134. Cs134 decays by half in two years, so for a few more years if you find Cs137 without Cs134 you are probably looking at other sources.
Cs137 decays via beta minus decay (it emits what is basically a high energy electron and electron anti-neutrino). It then moves "up" the periodic table to Barium 137m (the m means "metastable isomer", an excited state the atom can have for only a short time). Afterward, Ba137m emits a gamma ray at 661.66 keV to quiet the nucleus. Some of the electrons will either thrown off by the nucleus, emitting x-rays (internal conversion) or merely lower their orbits emitting x-rays.
These key energy signatures allow us to know exactly which isotope of radio-cesium we have. Cs134 does a similar thing, but it stabilizes with different energy levels.
Note: I just bought 130 Lbs of lead shielding to make my tests much cleaner. I'll have 180 Lbs of total lead shielding now. =)
I'm painting it gold color (to protect against lead poisoning) to give some "style" =)
Report Comment
gold huh?
"…Gold synthesis in a nuclear reactor
Gold was first synthesized from mercury by neutron bombardment in 1941, but the isotopes of gold produced were all radioactive.[3]
Gold can currently be manufactured in a nuclear reactor by irradiation either of platinum or mercury. Since platinum is more expensive than gold, platinum is economically unsuitable as a raw material…. techie stuff here.."

Thank you so much, Tom, for your dedication to this important work! I agree wholeheartedly: the park needs to be cleaned up (if indeed that is at all possible) or shut down, and the children and families living in contaminated areas should be evacuated at TEPCO's and the Japanese gvt.'s expense.
Keep up the great work!

I have to wonder, how many clouds have passed over us through the years and we never knew.
The call to local authorities got the typical response. "Of no concern" But, at least your local paper did a report. Is that newspaper accessible online?
I did not expect the southern hemisphere to affected so soon. I guess Fuku has been blowing more goo than we are aware of.

The dominating characteristics of this anticyclone can be seen by noting the huge geographical area over which it lies. “Cloud lines in westerly to northwesterly flow are apparent in the Sea of Japan and in the East China Sea, north of Taiwan. Bulging of high pressure southward is characteristic of a cold surge as cold air of the high pressure drains toward lower latitudes.”

“A tremendous surge of northwesterly winds is shown extending across the Yellow Sea and into the East China Sea.”

The dominating characteristics of this anticyclone can be seen by noting the huge geographical area over which it lies. The anticyclone is sustained and intensified by strong radiational cooling over the frozen land mass and by consistent cold air advection from Arctic latitudes.
The occurrences of winter season cold air outbreaks cause high pressure to extend eastward over coastal waters off the China mainland. Strong winds turning anticyclonically around this eastern extension of high pressure and the associated weather is referred to as a Northeast Monsoonal Surge (NEMS). These surges produce strong, steady, northerly to northeasterly monsoon winds along the East Asian coast near Sakhalin Island, across the Sea of Japan, the Yellow Sea, the East China Sea, the Philippine Sea and into the South China Sea.
A cold surge or NEMS is generally progressive, starting first in the far north and then moving southward with time. A major surge takes about 6-7 days before its influence is apparent at near-equatorial locations. Blocking action, as detected at the 500-mb level near 160ùE, appears important in anchoring low pressure in the region north of Japan, and thereby providing a stationary channel for cold northerly wind surges. The influence of the winds, as indicated above, extends well to the south…

"..a dose-related increase in the incidence of thyroid cancer was demonstrated in the early 1960s from the results of periodic clinical examinations of a subcohort of approximately 20,000 persons (the 'Adult Health Study'). More detailed analyses based on incidence in the Life Span Study cohort showed a strong dependence of risk with age at exposure, the risk being higher among people who had been less than 19 years old at the time of the bombings. …Among children who were under 15 at the time of the bombings, a steep decrease in risk with age at exposure was found, and children who were exposed between the ages of 10 and 14 had one-fifth the risk of those exposed when they were under 5. (iii) Other sites: Cancers at other sites that are clearly linked with exposure to radiation in the Life Span Study include those of the salivary glands, stomach, colon, lung, liver, ovary, and urinary bladder, and nonmelanoma skin cancer. For most of these sites, statistically significant associations were found for both mortality and incidence. … . cont

"…The evidence for an association with exposure to radiation is equivocal for cancers of the esophagus, gall-bladder, kidney and nervous system and for non-Hodgkin lymphoma and multiple myeloma, as the results are either of borderline statistical significance or those for incidence and mortality conflict. Cancer and Workers Exposed to
Ionizing Radiation
A Review of the Research Literature
"…The results of these studies found a mix of increased and possible increases in Hodgkin’s disease
among certain groups of exposed workers and no connection found among atomic bomb
survivors. Statistically significant is a term used to mean that the connection between the health
outcome and the exposure was strong enough that it was unlikely to be due to chance. An
asterisk (*) was placed by statistically significant findings. Two of these studies found rates of
Hodgkin’s disease to increase with increasing personal exposure to radiation. The research
included an incidence study, which looked at new cases of cancer. Incidence studies can track
health more quickly and accurately than mortality studies of deaths due to cancer…"

On the long time range, cesium 137 is the most worrying element because it has a half-life of 30 years.
Regarding the results expressed in Bq/kg of soil, most of them are higher than the limit fixed by the Japanese authorities at 5 000 Bq/kg for agriculture. Rice cannot be cultivated.
