Title: Japanese Director Koji Wakamatsu Dies at 76
Source: Hollywood Reporter
Author: Gavin J. Blair
Date: 10/17/2012

Japanese director Koji Wakamatsu died at 11 p.m. Wednesday from injuries he sustained Oct. 12, when he was struck by a taxi while crossing a busy road in central Tokyo. [...]

Earlier this month Wakamatsu had been to Busan International Film Festival in Korea to receive the Asian Filmmaker of the Year Award for 2012.

Wakamatsu told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview on Friday, Sept. 28, two weeks before the accident, that his left-wing, anti-authority political views, which had got him harassed by the police in the 1960s and 1970s, had never faltered.

[...]

Age had not diminished his passion or energy, having released three films this year, he was talking about his next two projects weeks before his death, an individualist to the end.

“I was planning to make something about the nuclear accident and TEPCO, but everyone’s doing stuff about that now, so I’ve changed my mind,” Wakamatsu told The Hollywood Reporter.

    My sympathies to his family.
This is a serious 'game'…as it is said.
Although ..this is far from a game..
Truth telling can be as serious as 'life and death'.

unlike others who've been found with plastic bags around their heads, this unfortunate man was "…struck by a taxi while crossing a busy road in central Tokyo". In this instance, I seriously doubt that his politics or public statement that he had – no interest – in producing a film on Fukushima, was cause for an assassination. We should refrain from painting every random death as being an act of suppression (of the facts) and remain focused on the hundreds-of-millions who will eventually become victims of TEPGOV's criminal negligence…

@AFTERSHOCK I hate to state the obvious but Tepco just willingly murdered everyone on the goddamn Japanese islands. Though I don't think was an assassination, what the hell makes you think they wouldn't be capable of killing a filmmaker after killing the Fukushima 50?
Do tell Aftershock. What about Tepco makes you think they are not capable of the murder of a journalist since they are absolutely okay with feeding cesium to infants??
    Cognitive dissonance indeed.

you're stepping on your own toes kalidances. Where in my post do you get that I'm inferring or stating that TEPGOV (or any-other nuke-organization) is beyond murder individuals (journalists or otherwise)? You should do yourself (and others) a favor and read what you're responding to. Had you done so, you'd have seen (at the outset of my post) a direct reference to the murder of a journalist who was found with a plastic bag over his head; an act perpetrated by the very entities you'd claim I'm ignoring!

Since you first started posting on enenews, I've been extremely considerate of your posts. Feel free to reciprocate such respect, as your – otherwise – relevant commentary may be interpreted as reckless spew…
