Title: Key persons in gov’t acted inadequately over Fukushima crisis
Source: Kyodo
Date: February 16, 2012

Two persons expected to have played a key role in dealing with the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant acted inadequately in the early days of the crisis, an investigation initiated by the Japanese parliament showed Wednesday.

Haruki Madarame [...] told the panel that he “hardly remembered” what kind of advice he gave to the government, recalling that he barely had time to sleep for more than a week after the crisis erupted in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami on March 11.

    Lawyerly advice solicited!

Seems like some cautious pussy-footing/circling around the whole issue of – crimes against the people of Japan and other nations perpetrated by the Japanese govt. and Tepco – and others in the nuclear establishment – like the makers of those flawed reactors.

We need some legal counsel. Where are the lawyers who could give us some idea of how to frame a lawsuit or lawsuits?

If any wanted to help, they could even do it anonymously, here in enenews.com.

    So many lives ruined…

Just one example – those kids who have lumps on their thyroids – IF they had been given iodine promptly, immediately after the earthquake and destruction of the reactors – that could have made a world of difference.

The Japanese government and Tepco had a DUTY to inform people of the dangers so that they could take appropriate self-protective action such as that!

How many Japanese children will get thyroid cancer because their parents were not told to give them iodine?

I agree, TEPCO and the Japanese gov. need to be held accountable for hiding information, especially since they thought no one would find out about how bad the radiation was/is , as it cannot be detected without equipment … They thought wrong !! many people have testing equipment, and the children with the lumps on the thyroid, will probably develop cancer, or problems with the functioning of the gland in short order …

      They are still hiding information….

Yes Cindy things will happen in short order, and the sad, horrific implication of thyroid tumors showing up this soon after the accident means that in the next couple of years many, many people in Japan will die as a result of high radiation exposure. :(

Very difficult as not only the Japanese but our government and others are all capable. I just hope they don't grab a couple of workers as scapegoats. I cannot even imagine the level of stress dealing with an earthquake, tsunami, and a nuclear catastrophe. I know how it feels to be next to a meltdown and just now finding out how bad it really was, but what the Japanese have gone through…unreal.

I guess the TEPCO thugs figure as soon as you start informing the public that certain actions need to be taken in order to avoid inevitable consequences of exposure to lethal amounts of radiation then they would be implying they are at fault for the injury. Can't let that happen then the entire world will want TEPCO and the Japanese government to pay restitution for the cost of causing sickness and death on a global scale. After all how could they have possibly foreseen a catastrophic earthquake would happen in an earthquake prone area that would critically damage 4 nuclear reactors built on top of that quake zone. They were just SHOCKED, and AMAZED when it happened. Yeah right, I wonder how many money hungry thugs from different countries were in on the planning of this NPP?

Sorry about what seens like run on sentences, it's my weakness.

Governments worldwide are responsible for crimes against humanity and every living creature on this planet over this disaster. They are all complicit by hiding the truth, and not informing their citizens how to protect themselves.

Millions of men, women, and children will die because they chose to protect the industry instead of their citizens!

Under universal law they should all be locked up, and the key thrown away.

I wonder if TEPCO"S negligence would be considered a Crime Against Humanity by the the International Criminal Court of the U.N.?

No, it is the government's negligence and I believe this to be WW. TEPCO thinks they are just following government orders while the government just thought that no oversight is needed. Same thing will happen in the US. The NRC will never be at fault.

I wonder if the people who built / approved / were responsible for 50+ reactors at Earthquake Central acted "inadequately" ?

"Inadequately"…oh.. no ..he mouthed just what the government wanted the japanese people to hear.
Madarame is guilty of Crimes of Crimes Against Humanity..whether he can to remember or not.
How many of the Japanese Parliament are complicit and now pointing fingers?
Someday the Japanese people will find out ..just how FAR they have been "sold down river".

What a scumbag! Of course you know what advice you gave it's freakin evident in the damn results! He told officials that it was hunky dory to spew seawater on a melting reactor core. When it's started to get real he somehow forgot to avoid taking any kind of responsibility. Such arrogance in the face of the destruction of one's own country is paramount to treason. Tar and feather? HECK YES!

B.O. sent that message "don't you worry bout a thang" from the safety of his hotel room in Rio de Janeiro…far from the radiation!

Here come the excuses…"I hadn't had my coffee when I read the report from Fuku, perhaps the devil made me do it" I hope that they keep in mind we have already heard the whopper of the century…"I fell into the lifeboat and was accidentaly rescued…I tried to get back to the sinking vessel, it was impossible!"
