“I don’t trust anything that we’ve heard so far,” Wallace Cavalier, Bayou Corne resident, exclaimed. “We hear the same thing over and over again. Everything is safe. They have an answer for everything, and they really don’t know nothing. Mother nature is going to have to handle this.” [...]

“I don’t see any scientist or anybody in this world correcting this problem,” Cavalier disagreed. “Mother nature is going to have to correct this problem.” [...]

“We are tired and this is getting even worse. Unbelievable,” [Kenny Simoneaux, Bayou Corne resident] stated. [...]

Anyone who didn't evacuate from Bayou Corne months ago doesn't understand the situation. It is getting worse, and there is nothing that anyone can do to stop it from spreading. It's not even reached the halfway point yet.

Law suits against Texas Brine need to be filed by those forced to evacuate, for recovery of damages for total loss of their homes and property. They're not going to pay unless the courts order them to do so, and it won't be a quick legal battle.

Dd sez: "Law suits against Texas Brine need to be filed by those forced to evacuate, for recovery of damages for total loss of their homes and property"

SP: I think lawyers are huddling, but the big bucks remuneration may not be percolating on the scale the residents are desiring. A law firm that gets a 150 person class action law suit needs a $300 million judgement to make the years of litigation affordable (law firm gets $100 million of the settlement).

The problem is we don't have a track record yet of fatal illnesses like the Erin Brokovich case at Hinkley, California against a much more prosperous company than Texas Brine. And to tell the truth it looks like despite paying millions in reparations someone is still fudging data at Hinkley after all these years (read the Wiki article which to me smells suspiciously of a continuing whitewash (focusing narrowly on cancer death data alone in the past few years since the case was settled). I am not impressed with the slant of the Wiki article but then again you get what you paid for (nothing) and perhaps even less:

      http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hinkley,_California#section_1

At BC you have no dead children (yet) so the realty is about it and maybe some lifetime heath insurance thrown in. But proving it and winning is a battle against a tricky and resourceful adversary.

Sue for double value home losses, ten years income for adults and permanent lifetime medical costs. You may get half.
