Title: Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Plant produces band of snow

h/t Anonymous tip
[...] have you ever heard of nuclear power plant snow? Well it happened recently in western Pennsylvania. The Doppler radar from the nearby National Weather Service Office in Pittsburgh captured the scene.
During the early morning hours of Jan. 22, the cooling towers from the Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Plant, near Pa., produced a narrow band of snow that traveled east from the stacks across the greater Pittsburgh area. [...]
The snow band produced was about 2 miles wide and extended east about 30 miles over southeast Beaver County and northern Allegheny County. What’s more, residents underneath this band reported over an inch of fluffy snow! [...]

Bet EPA needs to go back to their planning, as the concept is to vent the tritium in to the air where it defuses..SNOW concentrates any particles. Anyone have a dosimeter, or want to send any filter (car) samples to the http://www.radtest4u.com group? its free, you pay for postage only..

As a Pennsylvanian, I have to point out that it's Pittsburgh, not Pittsburg (as in the headline here.
But, for reasons I cannot it explain, the other city–the one close to TMI–is spelled Harrisburg, not Harrisburgh.

The last line in this article is a lie.
"Is this snow radioactive?"
(last line)
"Nope," said Ostrowski."Radiation is contained within the plant. Everything that comes out of those stacks is just water."
That would NOT be true.
Sometimes, but not always. Not everything.

Tritium is often in the steam that spews out of nuclear power plants. They can't contain it all in the plant because, as a form of hydrogen, its molecules are too small and they manage to seep around whatever seals the plant has.

Posted on Mike Bettes Weather Channel page…I would like to know the exact temperature differential that causes this to occur: http://www.facebook.com/pages/RadChick-Radiation-Research-Mitigation/260610960640885#!/twcmikebettes?fref=ts

Your very welcome. Working on my most important interview and show to date, regarding the 70,000 US servicemen and women that were exposed to radiation during Operation Tomodachi. Stay tuned

Don't worry – the NRC/FEMA 10-mile evacuation zone would have protected everyone if there was any kind of release.
If the SPF or reactor had melted down, the NRC would spring into action and run a model to prove their foregone conclusions – nothing could possibly spread 30 miles.
This was just 'regular' steam. Radioactive steam has magical properties that can only be accounted for in complex simulation software models. It couldn't possibly spread like the radar suggests. The NRC does not deal with the imperfections and general nonsense of reality. This is way beyond that – it's SCIENCE!

Since they are backed by the gobberment… go here and file a claim. It would wake a few of them up!

From…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbia_Generating_Station
"…The Columbia Generating Station features six low-profile fan-driven cooling towers. Each tower cascades warmed water, a byproduct of water heat exchanging with steam after leaving a turbine, down itself and subsequently cools the warmed water via a combination of evaporation and heat exchange with the surrounding air. Some water droplets fall back to earth in the process, thereby creating a hoar frost in the winter. At times, the vapor cloud from the cooling towers can reach 10,000 feet (3 km) in height and can be seen at a great distance. Replacement water for the evaporated water is drawn from the nearby Columbia River…"
