U.S. Gov’t-funded Study: West Coast and Hawaii residents are Fukushima downwinders — Effects of this radiation exposure expected to be ‘beneficial’

Published: February 21st, 2014 at 10:17 pm ET

Assessing potential radiological harm to Fukushima recovery workers, Bobby R. Scott Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute, June 2011: A radiological emergency exists at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in Japan as a result of the March 11, 2011 magnitude 9.0 earthquake and the massive tsunami […] News media misinformation related to the emergency triggered enormous social fear worldwide of the radioactivity that is being released […] For down-wind populations, hormetic effects (activated natural protective processes) are much more likely than are deleterious effects. […] hormetic (beneficial) effects may occur for doses up to and exceeding 250 mSv and are expected to be orders of magnitude more likely than radiogenetic cancer. This may be especially relevant for down-wind populations relative to the Fukushima Daiichi power plant, including persons residing in Hawaii and on the West Coast of the United States. […] This research was supported by the Office of Science (BER), U.S. Department of Energy, Grant No. DE-FG02-09ER64783.

Besides funding studies like the one above, what else is the DoE doing in response to the Fukushima ‘radiological emergency’?

Bahamas Tribune, Feb. 12, 2014: US concern over lack of radiation detection tools — US officials are working with the government and the Port Authority to insure radiation detection equipment are operational […] Jamaican Customs authorities have recorded “higher-than-normal” levels of radiation in two shipments from Japan […]

Bahamas Tribune, Feb. 19, 2014: […] According to The Gleaner in Jamaica, the Jamaica Customs Agency has been on “high alert” since the March 2011 earthquake-triggered meltdown […] JCA has been conducting the checks through a partnership with the United States Department of Energy […] A statement from the US Embassy confirmed last week that officials are working with the government and the Port Authority to insure radiation detection equipment is operational. US Energy Department officials visited the Bahamas in the week of January 27 to “review a radiation detection programme”, according to US public affairs officer Neda Brown, who said the potential for contamination is a “concern”. Did you actually say these pictures of/from direct exposures to manmade created radiation contamination look questionable?

            Some are mixed up? Really?

I have been reading your comments here for some time and almost agree 100% to your content. However in this case if you can stand it look at all the pics from Chernobyl. You will find some of the same faces in the Iraq file as well. As these disfigured children are unique it is not credible to find two children look the same with the same disfigurement from both Russia and Iraq.

I am here reading and now commenting because of the high standard on credible information. When I saw the duplicated photos I lost all confidence in the collection and that does not honor the poor souls that had this happen to them and there are too many and some of them will have children of their own.

These are Google files. And when you search a topic for an image or photo with the Google search engine, Google lumps together many images when are not really on topic. You can click on each image to see when the original website is.

And journalists sometimes use a picture with their story that really isn't quite on topic. For example, there is one famous picture of an earthquake crack that is posted as being from Fukushima Daiichi that is really from Fukushima Daini.

The mutations are from nuclear contamination and are horrific.

Okay I did not understand about mish mash at google.I have an interest in keeping the facts straight as trolls and shills use links without disclosure of google failures to debunk the real and horrible link from radioactivity and genetic deformity.

These children are some of the children in our future as we can not escape the building amounts of nuclear toxins.Everyone is vulnerable. There are no agencies or health organizations that are not muzzled so enenews is extremely important in bringing the spot light to bear on factual evidence.

It's really all about the pictures that you are seeing and the results you are seeing which are directly from Nuclear Radiation Contamination in various forms.

When you plug in "deformities" in any search the parameter will be sought over a broad variant database worldwide. Adding other words to that same search criteria will do the same.

99% of the world at large is not aware that these deformities even happened after every Nuclear Plant Meltdown and were a direct result from Nuclear Technology Applications/Releases.

99% of this world's population have no clue that DU munitions where used in modern warfare in Irag and it's use was against all international treaties. This is called pure evil, this is not called war… 🙁

The people in Naples Italy are currently experiencing what the government has tried to keep from the public since 1945 in all countries and this Nuclear waste is now found all over the world, thus the massive uptick in cancer diagnosis rates now at 50% of the entire worlds 7 billion population. That means 3.5 billion people will be diagnosed with a form of cancer in their lifetimes in the year 2014 and it will go up to 87.5% after 2030.

This is what happens inside a secretive top secret operation allowed to run wild all over the world without any accountability. Sadly you and I and all others are by law forced to live inside this current Zeitgeist Matrix whether we like it or not and they just locked up a Nun who sees these truths…

Most babies born with such deformities are either born stillborn or are killed when born so no one can see the evidence of consequences of radioactive contamination. The land where depleted uranium weapons have been used are uninhabitable for a million years. This includes Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, and Kosovo, etc.

This also includes all the nuclear test sites and weapons production sites and nuclear waste sites and nuclear energy sites. These sites exist at all too many places on the earth and are contaminating every inch of the world.

Not only is the radioactive contamination now coming from Fukushima Daiichi and other nuclear sites in Japan, South and North Korea, China, India, and Russia, etc. entering by sea and air, but also by all the goods being produced by these countries now entering the US.

There is no way to get rid of the nuclear contamination already existent. It is imperative to stop all nuclear chain reactions and all nuclear technology. To continue on without stopping is sure suicide and certain genocide of all life forms on earth.

“Cancer is spreading like wildfire in Iraq. Thousands of infants are being born with deformities. Doctors say they are struggling to cope with the rise of cancer and birth defects, especially in cities subjected to heavy American and British bombardment.
“Dr Ahmad Hardan, who served as a special scientific adviser to the World Health Organization, the United Nations and the Iraqi Ministry of Health, says that there is scientific evidence linking depleted uranium to cancer and birth defects. One of the important stops along the road that brought me here was a large farm in the town that I briefly lived in. It had a crafts fair sign on the road and I followed the arrow. 3,000 acres of beautiful farm land. Teams of oxen and horses pulling wagons of loose hay and men with pitchforks. My kinda place.
Two men quickly became my friends and showed me everything in the world made of popsicle sticks. One kept asking if I had seen his folks yet. The other told him to calm down you know they never come. I realized these men were mentally disabled but what a place to be. They supplied all the milk for the states prison institutions. I promised them I would come back and did.
The last year I went it was different. The men were sad and said they thought the farm would be closed. I asked why and they replied that there had been many deaths and there were no replacements. The next year it closed. The end of the Fernald Colony Royalston, Mass.

                  • mayibfrank

Years later I found its history. All the men came from The Walter E. Fernald State School. From 1946-1953 Harvard U.and MIT sponsored by the Quaker Oats Company they fed cesium to children in their breakfast cereal. They sampled stool and urine to know the amounts retained. This was done without their knowledge or parental permission.
The law suit that followed ended with the judge so horrified by what the state had done told the state that they would ask all involved how they wanted to live there after and required the state to carry out their desires. The Fernald Colony and that farm was created.
I find it hard to tell this tale as it brings back memories from decades ago of the joy I felt in watching these men bring in 80 cows to a spotless barn speaking to them by name as if they were their children but to understand they lived all their lives with their big institutional family and had to watch them carried off to die horrible death from radiation poisoning without an understand of what was happening to them.
Although this is hard to write I write because these men and women should never be forgotten as well as the treatment they received in this country.

Thanks for sharing. The experimenting was and is horrible. When I was an undergraduate at Stanford one professor came to dinner. It was known that he experimented with LSD. I never saw him again. I recently learned that Ted Kadinski, the Unabomber, was a student at the same time and he volunteered for experiments with LSD.

There was a study years later that had students as jailor, and some as inmates in an experiment and it was shown how sadistic the jailers were. But back in the 1950s when I was a student I heard about the same experiment. They really didn't need to repeat this experiment.

It wasn't just the poor and uneducated that were experimented on. Just the young and unwary.

I didn't go to my 50th reunion which was just after Fukushima after learning how corrupt the world is. I didn't want to be brain washed by a social group.

The GWEN towers and cell phone towers and cell phones are supposed also to be for control.

Before Hitler's speeches they would broadcast a lower frequency to make people unhappy. When Hitler would appear they would raise the frequency to make people happy.

It is all so very sickening.

One of the GWEN towers in Colorado was activated when James Holmes allegedly started shooting all the people in the Aurora Theater. I suspect he was part of an experiment whether willingly or not, whether he was actually the shooter or not. One of the emergency room nurses on duty that night later drowned.

Like much DOE funded research, bobby bases his far reaching insane conclusions – that 250mSv are hormetic, on cells in petri dishes, not on human beings. Almost everything he has on radiation, except the beagles, is from gamma rays going through cell cultures. Dr Bertell used to say that hormesis was a real effect, in that cells being threatened will grow faster for a period in an effort to survive. However, he doesn't base his theory on any actual human epidemiological evidence. Clearly if even the pronuke ICRP recommends that humans mbrs of the public not get more than 2mSv extra a year – abt twice background if 1 mSv, then bobby is out of his mind. Guess his brain got fried from all that caesium hes been playing with for so long. Too bad the bastards have all the money for publications. If I had $100 a week to live on I would publish and speak on low level radiation every week fir the rest of my life.

The point is that it is worse than a lie. it is a fairy tale with no basis whatsoever. Who pushes the idea, anyway? I mean it has to be coming from somewhere, some point of origin. Is it scientology? Someone else? Do they think that hormesis will prepare them for life on some planet somewhere? I mean, these are supposed to be scientists. It seems insane. It's like looking at the top of the page and seeing the headline, "Christians support hormesis theory." Not saying they do at all, but if the headline came out, and the rules say we are not to discuss religion, no comments at all would be appropriate. So article about hormesis to be put up for the reason that it is off topic. Like pixie dust. I'm tired, hope you get what I am saying. Really my head is spinning. Is a toxic spill 7.62 million times the Japanese government allowable radiation standard enough yet? Are we still talking about hormesis at this level? Goodnight. I am taking a pill

    • same reason that the whole nuclear industry and the medical industry as partners via the 'atoms for peace' campaign keeps talking about radiation being good for you.. via hormesis Big C 'treatments'.

WindorSolarPlease, that's an excellent idea! Wow..sounds like TEPCO, read this critical review of their business model:
"The safety culture is non existant and I worry about the safety of the workers daily. They are involved with elements they don't fully understand and the training is not only bottom of the barrel in that it's less than the basic information you need, but half of the time, the information conveyed is erroneous. You will be told about stringent safety standards, then never trained in something as basic as doffing PPE. Then engineering controls are broken and outdated, and the administrative controls only exist on certain levels. 95% of your training has been relegated to reading badly written SOPs at your desk, and then you will be handed over to train with someone who barely knows more about what is going on than you will. If you are an expert in a subject, stay away. They say they want your help, but will take credit for your accomplishments, scorn you for (trying) to correct anything, and after you point out the error of their ways more than once, you will be ran out of there faster than a hot knife slices butter. I almost forgot to mention, if you are lucky enough to get a competitive salary, it will be because you will be bearing the workload of at least 3-4 people, and micromanaged into blind servitude." The only difference in company standards is the higher radiation levels (slightly) in Japan…

        • Shaker1

Kashiko, Lovelace Hospital was one of the major medical players in Albuquerque. I haven't been there for twelve years, so it may have morphed by today. It's existed at least as long as I was there, and I arrived in the early 80s.

I mentioned sometime back that I had applied for a machinist postition to a respiratory research center when living in Albuquerque back in the late 80s. I don't remember much about it, as it was just a matter of gathering my resume and a single interview, but an impression that lingers is that this 'respiratory center' had existed for a while and that it was connected with Sandia Labs. For the interview, I was required to drive deep into the base, a somewhat restricted and desolate area in the eastern foothills of the Monzanos. I had thought that a few years later it was shut down because of funding.

Just wondering, but could this be a continuation of that operation?

They are having a laugh. The people behind several layers of curtains do have a sick sense of humor. And if you pay attention they will tell you what they are doing to you, what they did or what they are going to do in cryptic ways.

First, they tell you radiation can be good for you. They sat at a table and came up with that as they laughed. No matter how it's debunked they will still repeat it. And many will believe, which will have them rolling on the floor and dreaming up even wilder tales to be told when the cancers start being noticed. It's hilarious you see.

Second, this installation is the "Lovelace" Respiratory Research Institute. That's their way of telling you what this institute is going to do to you. There may be a valid "Lovelace" scientist to name the building after but in reality that is just used to hide the joke on most sheep. But they are doing it to you and you will come to know it.

At a glance: The Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute is a non-profit which recently acquired the Mind Research Network, also a non-profit. The salaries of those who work there are collected from government agencies and companies. About eight years ago the US Department of Health and Human Services gave a $15 million, five year grant to the University of New Mexico and Lovelace to study how potential biological weapons agents such as anthrax, plague and smallpox affect the lungs.

  • Mark Wonclunker

Let me make clear that I am generally a fan of Busby.
But in this video, at 25.21 in, he says:
"there is a certain element of truth in this hormesis idea. If you give mice a little bit of external radiation, then what it does over a period of time, it beefs up the repair systems in the cells slightly, and this can be shown."

I find this troubling and incomprehensible.

    • obewanspeaks obewanspeaks

Well I guess it would have to be the type of radiation given to such animals. There is natural and then there is unnatural radiation and they are not one and the same. The radiation/radioactive isotopes that are giving everyone cancer are the unnatural ones and/or the manmade ones that are not suppose to be present here on this planet's surface.

My black lab used to lay in the hot sun on a daily basis and she was absorbing the good vibrations of the natural photon radiation present coming in from the sun. Converting this photon radiation to Vitamin D in her coat. People flock to sun swept areas of the Earth/world every year for doses of natural sunshine.

I have not seen any waiting lines or people flocking outside any Nuclear Power Plants, Chernobyl or Fukushima lately.. 🙂 Big difference.. 🙁

      • Mark Wonclunker

Fair enough; I sunbathe myself when not in my tropical home. However, Busby is not putting the rats out in the sunshine. This is not what he is saying. He is talking about artificial lab-style radiation.

He doesn't make it clear whether it is alpha, beta, gamma or neutron. The only thing certain is that it is an external dose. It would be nice to know more.

But it is still unnerving for me to see such an eminent source apparently endorsing radiation.

    • Johnny Blade Johnny Blade

I can't remember the exact term for it but it's on the order of hormesis re;the process of "jump starting" the immune system to fight cancer & repair cells via radiation therapy treatments, but there's a point in which the patients receive too much of it and it becomes VERY BAD(?)!1 I'm sure the constant & increasing levels flowing from 311/fukushima qualify as the type & duration that fits into the latter "bad" category. Maybe that should be mentioned the next time he or anyone promoting hormesis should be reminded or countered with??!! They should leave me sis outta this altogether! 😉 (lol)

      • Mark Wonclunker

The debate seems to be whether ionising radiation is bad at anything above zero or background. The hormesis proponents say "a little is good for you" and the opponents, mostly us here I suspect, would say NO, anything is bad. The collective view seems to be that hormesis is a pro-nuke con-trick.

At least that is what I have always believed.

But now with Busby's statement, I am flummoxed, baffled, even bewildered. I feel like I was happily sitting on a three-legged stool, and one leg has just broke.

    • Jebus Jebus

The problem with hormesis theory is the pukers have taken mother natures evolved mechanism for life and basterdized it for manmade radionuclides.
Mother nature has sequestered and shielded herself from natural radiation, solar and terrestial, over time. There is no off switch.
Hormesis depends on this to function effectively. Not being overwhelmed. All effects are object dependant.
Where is the line for your overburden of damaging ionizing manmade radiation?
Who has say in your individual exposure?
Do they know your level of immediate harm?
      What's your hormesis quotient?
      What formula do you use?
When is too much for you?

    • Arizonan Arizonan

No I trust Busby, and I trusted Rosalie Bertell, who explained that hormesis was a real effect, that things grew bigger and faster when exposed to gamma I think, because they are in fear for their lives. However, the theory has NOTHING to do with chronic internalized radionucludes, which is what we have in the current situation.

In order to prove the theory of beneficial hormesis they would have to find subjects who have not been previously exposed to radiation (other than completely natural background levels) and are kept isolated from any future exposure to radiation not administered in the laboratory. Dharmasyd-Good to see your periodic posts and your presentation summary on radioactive 35S (in your pants) to your community several weeks ago. You and others are correct in your cynicism re. hormesis.

According to nuclear hormesis wing nuts, this is great news for all DNA sharing species.

Epidemiological studies and mainstream science do not support this nuclear wing nut theory. There is no study which conclusively proves there is a level of acceptable exposure to radiation which is guaranteed not to result in adverse health effects.

Academically, “Consensus reports by the United States National Research Council and the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements and the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR) argue there is no evidence for hormesis in humans and in the case of the National Research Council, that hormesis is outright rejected as a possibility. Therefore the Linear no-threshold model (LNT) continues to be the model generally used by regulatory agencies for human radiation exposure.” (WP)

In contrast, the French Academy of Sciences, the medical authority for the nuclear dominated French state, has claimed “many laboratory studies have observed radiation hormesis…” (WP) The wing nuts theory is complete HS,and is based on laboratory studies rather than where this science really counts, in empirically based observational science outside of a laboratory. Based on all the radiation liberated in to the environment around the world, all species should be immortal or highly disease resistant.

Incessant spewing from operating commercial nuclear reactors, the fallout from thousands of nuclear weapons detonations, ongoing hydroshot tests, nuclear weapons production waste scattered across 36 US states, the unending fallout from the FU meltdowns, the ongoing incineration of nuclear tainted waste in Japan/US/etc, the perpetual leakage at Hanford, burning nuc. waste under the St. Louis garbage dump, storage of waste in failed salt formations, the dumping of waste at sea along the Eastern and Western coasts of the US. dumping of waste by organized crime in the Mediterranean and of the coast of Africa, the TMI, Chernobyl , Fleurus, Forsmark, Sellafield, Atacha, Paks, Tokaimira, Yanagio, Ikitelli, Tomsk, Ititelli, Cadarache, Vandellos, Jaslovske, Bollumice, Kyshtym, Windscale, and Calk River nuclear reactor incidents, etc., have not reduced illness in any species.

        • Wyakin Wyakin

You are correct. The implications applicable far beyond the flu virus. There is strong similarity between the power and economic structures of nuclear and pharma.

Although slightly OT here, the main ingredients of vaccines are cultured bacteria and viruses. They also contain stabilizers, neutralizers, carrying agents, and preservatives.

Many microbiologists argue that the main ingredients and the media on which they are cultured are the primary vector for the introduction of foreign proteins which trigger a host of adverse health effects.

Flashback to the 108th U.S. Congress House of Representatives Subcommittee on Human Rights and Wellness which held a hearing September 10, 2003, on the simian virus (SV40) that was included in the original polio vaccine produced and administered to children in the 1950s and 1960. The actual contamination of media may have lasted longer than this time period.

“There is no dispute that millions of Americans received polio vaccines that were contaminated with the virus called Simian Virus 40, or SV–40. There also is no dispute that SV–40 is capable of causing cancer, but there is a major dispute as to how many Americans may have received the contaminated vaccine, with estimates ranging from 4 million to 100 million people. There is also a major dispute as to when the polio vaccine supply got cleaned up. In addition, nobody knows how many people got sick or died because of the contaminated vaccines.” (p1)

“US officials are working with the government and the Port Authority to insure radiation detection equipment are operational as the potential for contamination is a ‘concern’… Following reports last month that Jamaican Customs authorities have recorded “higher-than-normal” levels of radiation in two shipments from Japan, Neda Brown, a public affairs officer within the US Embassy, yesterday confirmed that the US Department of Energy has visited the country to “review a radiation detection programme.”

US citizens-notice how many of the individual EPA Radnet sites have no monitoring results when queried? Maybe attributed to results above scale, but primarily blamed by EPA officials on maintenance needs.

Maybe US Officials should try to fix the alleged non functioning and un-budgeted maintenance of EPA monitoring stations in the US, and require the FDA/USDA/etc. start testing regimens for all food and goods sold in the US, to put the safety of taxpaying citizens in front of window dressing politics.

The existing allowable US food radiation level restrictions are pathetic. They need to be dramatically lowered from 1200 Bq/kg.

Nevertheless, agencies with the fiduciary responsibility to test food safety on behalf of its citizens should report actual results regardless of the officially established safety threshold guidelines.

College tuition will be double if you come with 2 brains…oh wait, that means most of America should be paying half the tuition since most come with half a brain.

The paper said 6 out of 10 local children are not prepared to go to kindergarten. And we are doing better than most other communities. Kentucky, USA. In kindergarten, kids nap, play, eat with other children. And our kids are not ready for that? That doesn't even require a brain, does it? I mean, slugs do that.

Translation finally broken: hormetic = Homer Simpsonic

  • bo bo

The whole hormesis topic got me curious about this 'radon hot spring' that old folks frequented for 'hormetic effects'. I was always confused by it but also have not heard of people falling sick from it either. This article answered my question: apparently it was just a marketing gimmick, there was little to no radon present.

The existence of this hot spring was very harmful though, because it did place this huge question mark when I was young – ' so, is radiation bad for you or good..?'

  • jackassrig

Remember when in the old days we stuck our new Buster Browns plus feet under the Xray machine? Well, they don't do that any more. I wonder why?

  • or-well

    Hormesis shill alert.
Some of you will remember DiogenesNJ, a self-professed advocate of hormesis, who posted here at various times in 2011/12.
I have seen this on-screen name on other sites since.
It is either a paid shill or a Nukist "True Believer".
    Just a heads-up.

Bobby R. Scott Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute – Effects of this radiation exposure expected to be ‘beneficial’ [to our bank balance.]

    Oxygen / Water — Effect
Too little — Death ( not good )
    Just enough — Life ( great )
Too much — Death(?) ( Not good )

So why on earth do these 'muppets' believe that radiation can possibly be of benefit to anything other than their bottom line.

  • American Phoenix57

“It appears that perhaps the most serious unanticipated effects of fallout is long-term, persistent immune deficiency.” . . . “It can weaken the immune defenses of the body at very low total doses leading to unexpectedly large increases in infectious diseases and cancers.”

“When the radiation from such isotopes as strontium-89 and 90 in the bone marrow mutates an existing virus that invades the T-cells of the immune system and kills them in the process of replication, the stage is set for the complete collapse of the immune defenses and resulting death from opportunistic infections or cancer.” (Ernest Sternglass, “The Implications of Chernobyl for Human Health”, International Journal of Biosocial Research, no.8, p. 18, 19, July 1986)

    • GQR2

RAIDS – they are set up to medicate, micro diagnose and make a fortune while the people languish with chronic illness and seceptability to all kinds of infections, and physical pain. social difficulties, difficulties working. Yeah radiation is beneficial – that is lie. It will never be beneficial the planet, and the universe is just stuck with it,and die a slow death on the macro level and quick deaths on the personal level. Decades cut off life spans. No more super geezers? Lots of birth defects. ooooOOOoHHHhhh

auto immune diseases… i have RA, under control when i can get my meds from mexico over the counter at 20$ a month, can't get em here cause FDA took them off the market, (cause they worked, suppliments). i was in 10th grade, 6 miles from TMI when that went off, my boxer dog scottie, died that summer, just fell over in the back yard and died. my mom, a lifetime non smoker and drinker, died at a young 67 with lung, pancreatic, and kidney cancer. words cannot describe how i detest this horrible industry. now downwind of SONGS and fukushima, after i finish my garage sale today, i going on my scooter to hang large signs on I-5 that say "fukushima is here". 40 years later and the facts are even more hidden from the public. so much for progress.

    Notice the date March 16, 2011, The NRC head, Casto, was in Japan that day talking with the Japanese gov. and said;

"According to Mr. Casto, his team helped Japan develop the road map that resulted in the plant being declared officially under control in December."

Click on the link below to see the face of the spin doctor himself. Note the date.

  • cooterboy

He doesn't call out his team, because if memory serves me well you never call out a CIA agents name. Casto probably works for the CIA.
His team did a good job and I would imagine that if one looks at other governmental agencies, as to how much spin came from them in the following week. Coincidence is now coverup, provable, at the highest level.

"We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false."

    • m a x l i

It's easy to debunk. Scroll down a bit!

And there are many more ways to debunk it. In the "scientific" work we are talking about it says against the end under "Acknowledgements": "This paper is dedicated to the heroic and courageous recovery workers at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power facility in Japan."

I'm wondering: What is there 'heroic' when you are doing something that is 'beneficial' to you?

After waking up to the news of another person just recently diagnosed with cancer having been rushed to the hospital with a high fever & seizures I am all the more sickened & disgusted by all this.I guess I should mention that it's an 11 yr. old little girl…. I'm unable to even maintain my composure right now much less type my usual rambling "novel",but I have to admit that I'm kinda disappointed that the way this headline is seen by people just learning the serious nature of 311/Fukushima and the places like WIPP where they think they can tuck the shitium spewing from ALL nuke plants & weapons mfg. facilities but flaws in the crumbling nuclear infrastructure & incompetence by the handlers have exposed how foul & deadly their crap is to everyone including little girls who don't even have a family history of cancers! I sure hope anyone who sees the headline here that serves to be an ad promoting nuclear by telling them that wallowing in atomic filth is something to look forward to and be grateful for??!! UUGGGHH!!!! 🙁

Effects of Fukushima radiation expected to be 'beneficial'. Wow, this truly is some good news!

I know some people, who for sure are missing out on the benefits. Someone please make a phone call to the gentlemen of the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) and tell them they need to read about this scientific breakthrough, must no longer pay attention to the propaganda of communist-terrorist-atheist fear-mongering nutters and have to stop their silly habit of wearing full-body protective suits and respiratory masks on the rare occasions when they pay a short visit to the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant.

You can watch this angst-driven irrational behaviour in the first 30 seconds of this video:

They are displaying a bad example and are fuelling radiophobia. I am very disappointed! Next time I expect them to arrive in swimming trunks, to make a dip in the fuel pools, to drink a glass of water from one of the wells around the power plant, to show a big smile and to accept the invitation by the locals to a dinner composed of finest Fukushima produce.

By the way: When the gentlemen in question finally overcome their baseless fear and reject the white jump suits any overcautious idiot wants to force onto them, it will even be beneficial to their appearance when they don't look any longer like clowns in sleepers and nappies.
