REPEAT AFTER ME: “RT Is Wrong: Fukushima is NOT 4½ Chernobyls (But It IS Worse)”
Female Faust

REPEAT AFTER ME: “RT Is Wrong: Fukushima is NOT 4½ Chernobyls (But It IS Worse)”
The problem is that numbers were compared without being converted — some of the measurements were in I-131 equivalence (and yes, this is the first I have heard of it, and no, I do not understand why everyone does not use the same scale, especially because it is easy to not catch mistakes like this when stressed out over the implications, duh). The first to sound the alarm clearly, however, was EX-SKF:
But the English sites that read Daily Yomiuri’s article (but not necessarily TEPCO’s press release) naturally compared the numbers this way:
Cesium-137 released from Fukushima: 360,000 terabecquerels
Cesium-137 released from Chernobyl: 85,000 terabecquerelswithout realizing the Fukushima number is iodine equivalence, and the Chernobyl number isn’t. Thus the headlines like “Cesium-137 contamination: Fukushima amounts to four Chernobyls” at RT, for example.
But without the 40x multiplier on Fukushima, the numbers are (I use the correct number, 10,000 which would be 400,000 with 40x multiplier):
Cesium-137 released from Fukushima: 10,000 terabecquerels
Cesium-137 released from Chernobyl: 85,000 terabecquerelsOr with the 40x multiplier on Chernobyl to get iodine equivalence, the numbers are:
Cesium-137 released from Fukushima: 400,000 terabecquerels
Cesium-137 released from Chernobyl: 3,400,000 terabecquerelsAs one of the readers of the blog commented, the meme, however false, that Fukushima contamination is 4 times worse than Chernobyl seems to have taken a life of its own and is spreading. It’s doubly ironic that it is all thanks to Yomiuri Shinbun, pro-nuke establishment newspaper whose owner Matsutaro Shoriki did all he could to bring about a nuclear Japan and succeeded.

We live in Tokyo and we've been following this site. We are musicians and we made a song to help save the Fukushima children. Our song is not for sale yet, but all proceeds will go to help move families that want to move. The song is a remix of Alicia Keys' Empire State of Mind. Please support these innocent children.
Here is a rough translation of the lyrics:
You want this voice delivered to your soul…
You stand there, but there is no answer to the devastation…
It is a continuation to the waking nightmare, it never ends…
This is real, not something on television or film…
Japan, stretched out hands… bonds connecting…
The love is warm… hoping for another day…
Say a prayer for Japan…Japan….Japan…
From that fateful day…
We came to know that we are connected with love…
Even now, people suffer with loneliness, but…
A future voice will be heard in a faraway place…
Now is what we will be able to do…
Japan, stretched out hands… bonds connecting…
The love is warm… hoping for another day
Say a prayer for Japan…Japan….Japan…
Angels have small hands…
But spread their wings to the world with a smile…
So that the world will listen and help Japan…
Japan, stretched out hands… bonds connecting…
The love is warm… hoping for another day
Stand up….

Thank you very much Nihon311 – what a beautiful song!
Great to hear from you guys (and gals).
We hope you are all looking after your health.
Please post here any stories you hear, even rumors, about radiation effects in Japan – or, any other story connected with Fukushima.
If we don't get our stories correct, they will accuse us of OVER-reacting or causing needless panic, so we like to hear what other people like you have to say. (In some cases, we may UNDER-react due to insufficient information).
Remember to watch Reactor 4 and get the hell outta there if there is a large earthquake or if the Spent Fuel Pool #4 falls. It is possible that things are much worse than you are reading here, so remember to take proper precautions.
Many thanks for posting your song!
Cheers and Love from all the People at enenews.com.

A warm welcome to you, Nihon311! What a beautiful song, with such a beautiful and important message! Thank you for sharing it with us here at enenews.com! I was so touched listening to the singer and her gorgeous voice, with its plaintive, impassioned cry for help for the dear people of Japan. It made me cry. :-'''( May it help you raise as much support, financial and otherwise, as will be needed to safely evacuate all in harm's way.
We hear you and we support you, Japan! Our hearts go out to you and our hopes and prayers are with you! We will NEVER forget you and the criminal wrongs that have been perpetrated upon you by the greedy nuclear cabal and its minions who do its ugly bidding.
We stand by you in solidarity and friendship and love, and we will never give up until the children of Japan and its people are safe from the nuclear terror of Fukushima.
Warmest wishes and big {{{hugs}}} to you and yours, from all of us here at enenews, as well as the citizens of the United States!

Thank you everyone! We can make a difference some way some how. We're also making an iOS app to help raise money because the Japanese Government is full of **it (from day one). I've already taken in a lot of cesium in my body, but it's ok because I'm 41, but more importantly we're going to try and save as many children that we can. F*** you TEPCO! And JP Gov! You're killing us!!! F*** you!!!

Chernobyl (RAW)= 14,000 PBq

If the raw totals for I-131 and Cs-137 are more than in Chernobyl…
… What is TEPCO counting more of in it's raw figures?

あの日から、何回日が昇っただろう
僕たちは、愛でつながってること知った
でも今も、淋しさ抱える人がいる
安らげる未来願う声が聞こえる
こんな今こそ、僕らに何が出来るだろう

Yes, I can easily put prints in the subways. I live near Ueno and I have access to many lines in Tokyo. And I will do whatever it takes to fuck the JP/Tepco Gov because they ruined my life. Japanese people are some of the nicest people on the planet, but after the quake, we quickly learned no matter what country you live in… the gov is going to fuck you.

We're going to move many families from Fuk. If not… these kids are going to die from heart disease and the JP Gov acts like everything is fine. I feel like I'm living in a sci-fi horror movie. Thank you elite Japan! Glad you made millions from plutonium while we suffer now.

So sorry, Nihon311. My heart goes out to all of you, and the dear, sweet innocent children.
Please see my earlier comment above about the song you posted. It was so beautiful.
Thank you for connecting with us here. It is so important that the rest of the world outside of Japan hear directly from people like you inside Japan. We need to hear firsthand about what is really going on, so we can continue to spread the truth. The mainstream media is only offering us crumbs of information, and it is up to the rest of us to do the right and responsible thing and speak the truth.
Wishing you continued strength and vigor and good health as you "fight the good fight" as we say in America. Please keep in touch and let us know how it goes, ok?

The Fukushima Daiichi water releases can be much more accurate based on the math of quantity of isotopes found in x number gallons of water. If an isotope is very high far out at sea then scientists can compute the amount of releases with high accuracy.
The Americans have been doing the sea analysis for decades.
One example of their expertise. Remember my post on the loss of the two USS nuclear subs? The Thresher and the Scorpion in 1963 and 1968 in the Atlantic. The US navy has paid big bucks to monitor the wrecks:
"…later report by Dr. Robert Ballard, whose investigative team visited the Scorpion wreck in 1985 using the search for Titanic as a cover since the visit was part of a recently declassified mission to visit Scorpion as well as Thresher, another nuclear sub which was lost off the coast of Cape Cod,"
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Scorpion_(SSN-589)#section_4
SP: I think they know very well how much cesium and strontium has leaked into the Pacific Ocean from Fukushima and the water releases alone are many times the total releases of Chernobyl. I would not be surprised if the water releases are already 10 times Chernobyl and growing steadily by the day.

Congratulations to all the "musicians" here….That is soooo important, that artists will work on this issue. The "emotional" moment can change so many things!! We all have to be emotional with all the people suffering from this catastrophe. And it is not only concerning the people in Japan, but every day more it will become a global catastrophe…and many of us read these technical analysis and dont understand much…but everyone of us "feels" the catastrophe—and that is the important thing, because even without the technical knowledge we feel, that this is concerning mankind!
I am also musician and I composed a requiem…if you want to listen, here is the link:

Greeting, Fukushima-Requeum! Thank you for sharing your beautiful composition with us here. It is very moving and powerful. I was riveted listening to it; it brought back the horror and deep emotions I felt in the immediate aftermath of 3/11.
The photos accompanying it nicely complemented the music too.
Thanks again for sharing! We look forward to hearing more from you. May your composition become known far and wide! Best wishes to you!

The problem with comparing this nuclear catastrophe with Chernobyl is that this catastrophe is ongoing ((forever)), with trillions of becquerels release ((per day)). Bottom line, nuclear technology has failed, big time.

What-About-The-Kids, thanks for your kind words and support. Just to let everyone know what's really happening in Tokyo… my wife's good friend's husband passed away a few months ago from a heart attack. He was 36 years old and a boxing trainer. So, he was in very good physical condition. In addition, her 6 month old child has a hole in her heart. It's so sad.
Also, I'm going to Fukushima next week to shoot footage for the 'Nihon' video. We will make a difference!

You are very welcome, Nihon311. I am so sorry to hear about your friend's husband and child. My heart goes out to her.
We have read here at enenews about the "Chernobyl heart" which has inflicted so many children of Chernobyl. We understand this is one of the many possible health and genetic risks from radiation exposure. It is so sad to see this same infliction happening now to the dear children of Fukushima.
And I have now heard of several young people even here in the U.S. collapsing suddenly from heart failure over the past year. The fallout hit us here, as you have been reading here on enenews, no doubt. It is very concerning…
This is insanity, that we would allow ANYONE to build such deadly contraptions! These children's damaged hearts were due to MAN-MADE radiation. These crimes must NOT go unpunished!
I wish you well in your efforts to produce the video to accompany your song and to promote it to raise funds to help evacuate the children in harm's way.
Please wear protective gear and a mask in Fukushima when visiting. Take care and we look forward to hearing your updates.

I personally think this was a man made accident because they 'elite' are hell bent on culling the population.
Report Comment
I tend to think so too. The secrecy, suppression of helpful/life-saving information, failure to aid and protect the people/respond more effectively to the crisis, are part of it.
As usual, the elites would rather be seen as inept than diabolical.
