There is a request from residents measurements Hirono-machi, Iwaki City.

line survey meter α, use Aloka TCS-232 Hitachi. (Set time constant: 3,30) respond well to the surface of iron rust, it is likely to be trapped in the oxide material Why? “We are country residents? Or not do not want to detect alpha, beta-ray nuclides actually measure the gamma-ray only” I have a sense of distrust that. Our aim is to get to dispel the anxiety rather than to foment disorder, came out more than the difference in measurement, inspection asked to formally to the government. We have raised the issue. Please do not silence. If you do not deal in reality that does not turn a blind eye, it is at the expense of residents. · When the perpetrator is a government that happens.

Via Fukushima Diary:

Though you can’t see the black substance, Mr. Oyama koichi measured alpha nuclide from the cover of the street gutter in Iwaki shi. (Alpha ray survey meter TCS-232)

From this video, you can’t tell the alpha ray level, but they measured it without a sheet of paper. […]

Wikipedia: When alpha particle emitting isotopes are ingested, they are far more dangerous than their half-life or decay rate would suggest, due to the high relative biological effectiveness of alpha radiation to cause biological damage, after alpha-emitting radioisotopes enter living cells. Ingested alpha emitter radioisotopes (such as transuranics or actinides) are an average of about 20 times more dangerous, and in some experiments up to 1000 times more dangerous, than an equivalent activity of beta emitting or gamma emitting radioisotopes.

Lots of that black stuff to go around, sadly. Tons, and tons to come,….

Btw, 6.8 just hit northern Japan.

They are still calling it mysterious black powder….ridiculous!

It must have been tested and there are some who know what is in the black powder and where it came from….why aren't they spitting out that info?
If the black powder was revealed Tepco would have to organize an evacuation…then clean up….easier to keep quiet and say they don't want to scare the good people living with the black powder by telling them the risks they are living with day to day.

That's it many moons. If they acknowledge "IT",…..they will be responsible for "IT"! They are not about to do that! 🙁

'The black stuff', is the raindrop that landed on my finger 14 days ago,…and is still eating through! I thought it was a smudge from the wood stove I had just loaded,…but when it hit my finger it STUNG! The entire finger,….all the way to the bone and joints is all inflamed and painful. I pray the isotope isn't forever-lasting-half-life', huh? 🙂

Wow Jill that sounds awful….I hope it goes away soon! Makes one afraid of the rain….

Wood stove? That's good….no radioactive isotopes created to heat your stove.

A piece of plastic is put on top of the Minamisoma black substance, watch it curl up:

We all have to get away from this "black powder," fast! It is the only thing that will help. Alpha just rips through your cells. They even show the puffs and plumes of black death on the webcam, it is not a secret. Chernobyl is no model for this, apple pectin, etc. can't fight it.

Black Plague, so many magnitudes worse than before.

No it can't,…apple pectin. But,…it can lessen our 'load', for a given time. That brings some relief. I am talking 'palative care' here now.

Absolutely right, SJ! I'm so sorry about your finger! Please keep us posted, I hope that it feels better tomorrow.
