HEY NAVY SAFETY MY A**
1. Where are the total protective suits and gloves protective boots Filtrated Air masks total face and body coverings Like HAZ MAT.
THIS IS THE WORST HAZMAT IN THE WORLD and not ONE person was outfitted where is the SAFETY IN THE MILITARY ASLEEP NOT one person should have been subjected to this gross violation and everyone connecting with the orders to forcing these fine crewmen should be COURTS MARSHALED and a REDUCTION IN RANK. This is a scam of THE MILITARY SERVICES POISONING THE CREW
Not one news article that I've seen so far tells what the hey those sailors were doing for "humanitarian assistance"! Are the media too
d-u-m-b to ask? or was the kind of "help" they were rendering classified? If the latter, the news articles could at least say so.
What were our Navy ships doing there in the first place? I suspect they were sent to view, video, photograph the scene. Or was there more?
Were any sailors ordered to go ashore for any reason? Or was their exposure to radiation only because of being on deck within radiation-saturated air?
Meanwhile, none of the so-called news articles about this lawsuit have said anything about the lack of protective gear on the sailors cleaning those decks–unless those were photos from elsewhere!
USS Ronald Reagan Sailors deliver aid to Japan

“’It’s about nine o’clock in the morning here, and our helicopters are getting ready to go back in the air, and start the relief effort today,’ said Meadows.
“U.S. air crews are taking thousands of pounds of supplies – things like food, water and blankets—from the carrier to the tsunami-stricken people of Japan.
“Meadows talked about some of the touching stories of the aid effort.
“’When they go down and give supplies to the people of Japan, and they get hugs from them, thumbs up, smiling faces,’ said Meadows….” http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/03/15/uss-ronald-reagan-ready-to-help-japanese/
U.S. troops, USS Ronald Reagan arrive in Japan
By the CNN Wire Staff
March 12, 2011
“(CNN) — The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan arrived off the coast of Japan Sunday to support Japanese forces in disaster relief operations, the U.S. Department of Defense said in a statement.
“More U.S. aid — in the form of equipment, staffers and search-and-rescue teams — was expected to arrive Sunday to address the widespread devastation caused by the 8.9-magnitude earthquake and resulting tsunami.
“Near Honshu, Japan, the USS Ronald Reagan will support the Japan Self-Defense Force by providing refueling operations for Japanese helicopters and transporting the island country's troops to disaster areas, according to the Pentagon statement….” http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/03/12/quake.response/index.html
I don't know about the US, but "crime draft" is no fiction, but real. You don't need crimes like theft, murder, rape for a crime draft. It is sufficient to declare anyone's rejection of his(her) draft a crime. This is called compulsory military service. I was offered the choice between imprisonment and draft. Being a coward, I went for draft. So much for the "brave" soldier.
Hi all , richard quote "Some are even crime draft apparently. Sorry for no links, but ive seen docos that show men and women offered imprisonment or draft. They ended up in Iraq. Not sure of naval personnel."
And here i was thinking thats how they partially populated the policestations in america, but its the army then .
Unstable but overpowered/overarmed individuals on a powertrip here or there , its the same crap . They both end up being bad news .
you are correct DID. I've even seen employment regulations being put in place, that give preference to former military personnel. At first, this would seem natural, as they people are skilled with weapons and tactics. Trouble is, are they as disciplined in their interaction with the public, which they're sworn to protect and serve…
I've always wondered why they would allow/promote such a massive corruption/lack of integrity in the policeforce . What and who's agenda is served by installing terror , fear and self learned helplessness in the population. I'm afraid the answer is about to reveal itself when the "dropping of the mask" become official policy . I can only hope by then they are overpowered in numbers of "aware" people , globally .
I do not support a massacre , because i think the citizens can not win this with a m16 or whatever against a massive finetuned war against everything machine with the biggest black hole where the conscious is supposed to be on the planet .
I do not support the massacre of a civil war in general , especially before critical mass is big enough to stand a chance , but i will offcourse support the "good but impatience" guy's and those sucked in against their will by the snowball effect (everyone else ) if it happens nevertheless , but i keep hoping other strategy's (like systematic truth revealing ) will turn out to be succesfull before it comes to that. my two cents..
@DisasterInterpretionDissorder (What a perfect name!), your "dropping of the mask" immediately rings a bell: "The mask of sanity"
I might have linked this before, but I am convinced it is a good read and tells us what the inner core of virtually anyone, who still today promotes nuclear power, is. http://www.cassiopaea.com/cassiopaea/psychopath.htm
The Army addresses this issue in the Army Recruiting Regulation, Army Regulation 601-210, paragraph 4-8b: "Applicant who, as a condition for any civil conviction or adverse disposition or any other reason through a civil or criminal court, is ordered or subjected to a sentence that implies or imposes enlistment into the Armed Forces of the United States is not eligible for enlistment.."
ForwardAssist, I think a more general version might be something like:
Only a fool would send a child to serve.
Only a fool would send a child to serve any government.
In other words, I don't think it's a situational thing, rather I think it's an attitudinal thing. As a teen I was the kind of fool who signed up for "the reserves". Society smiled on the practice at the time. I now realize how exploitable people are at that age.
My father was a 30 year Army man. Two tours of Vietnam, purple hearts, bronze stars with oak leaf clusters, three tours of Korea.. ended his career as a recruiter. He died of Brain Cancer. Agent Orange most likely..
He made my brother swear that he would not enlist.
USS Ronald Reagan's Facebook post on that day (Sunday, March 13, 2011 at 11:52pm, probably the US time) by Commanding Officer Captain Thom Burke says (emphasis is mine):
Friends and Family of USS Ronald Reagan:
I want to take this opportunity to personally assure you that first and foremost all personnel aboard the USS Ronald Reagan are safe and healthy.
During our mission to assist our close allies of Japan, we were operating near the radioactive plume from Fukushima Dai-Ichi Nuclear Power Plant. As you may have already heard, radioactivity was detected on 17 personnel from our ship, however, we promptly took the proper precautions and the radioactivity was easily removed by using soap and water. The levels that were detected were very low levels. To put this into perspective, the maximum radiation dose received was equalt to the amount of natural background radiation one would receive in one month from sources such as rocks, soil and the sun.
Ronald Reagan has since repositioned away from the Fukushima Dai-Ichi Nuclear Power Plant.
As a nuclear-powered aircraft carrrier, we have extensive technical expertise onboard to properly monitor such types of risks, and if necessary, rapidly resolve the situation.
We have taken all the necessary precautions to ensure that everyone is safe. We have closely monitored spaces, evaluated everyone who has flown or worked on the flight deck and cleaned the aircraft.
Yes. The reason for suiting up with masks and goggles is obvious. Ingested or inhaled or even an open wound.
Alpha particles… NOT good!
Amazing how smart people are so easily 'duped' into accepting a safety net idea that's not really safe.
Example of 'doublespeak':
"To put this into perspective, the maximum radiation dose received was equal to the amount of natural background radiation one would receive in one month from sources such as rocks, soil and the sun."
– Captain Thom Burke
- deployed as intentional ambiguity
- disguises the nature of the truth, producing a communication bypass
- to abuse language for manipulative purposes
There's a difference between natural radiation and man-made radionuclides that don't exist in nature.
The situation is still not resolved. We are all receiving hot particles all the time.
And what about those who have or will die of heart attacks and strokes. Radiation destroys the circulatory system. Cancer rates only tell part of the story. Then there is diabetes and Alzheimer's, etc. Radiation is a killer. And I don't believe the Captain about the amounts of radiation. The instruments probably couldn't even read that high. And the Navy doesn't want to be responsible for every ill caused by depleted uranium and especially radioactive fallout.
Wonder what he considers "significant" concern. And, of course, you cann't see radiation. No doubt his double speak was ordered by someone higher up the chain of command who wasn't even there. Wonder why they call it "chain" of command? The military and the civilians above them have all kinds of experience lying about incidents of war.
ah,but the nuetron beams.."For instance, Weiss says that in the early days of the disaster, some workers may have been exposed to high-energy neutrons as fuel melted and went critical, but there’s no exposure data because their dosimeters can’t detect neutrons."
We don't know how much closer the carrier was to Fukushima between the 11th and 15th. We only know (via the transcripts) that the ship's monitors alarmed at some point, they did some sampling and eventually acted to 'evade' the plume.
The Reagan's crew may have been exposed to far more radioactivity than we know. In total, I don't think the scrubbing itself contributed much to their potential total exposure considering all the other possibilities. It's a guess – I may be 100% wrong.
There is no radiation protective gear for crew worth a damn anyways. They have gas masks and maybe a poncho and that's about it. That's all *any* soldier or sailor has. No moon suits or lead vests for everyone – just a few for reactor safety crew. The chemical-biological trousers and tops the scrub-down crew is wearing are worthless. They have some activated charcoal and fancy polyester fabric, that's it.
It may be alarming for you to see sailors without moon suits scrubbing the deck, but that's standard operating procedure. That does not make it right – but that's the only way they ever could or will be able to handle radiation.
They were not dropped on the deck from a helicopter, nor did they parachute from a plane. They walked on that deck, pushing their brooms, all the while stirring up some plutonium, a dusting of cesium & a sprinkle of strontium to name a few. And they took deep breaths of the *fresh air..
..yup "that's the only way they ever could or will be able to handle radiation."
That is exactly what those servicemen were told even while alarms are ringing in their ears.
…I wonder if their bones would pass the Strontium test…
PS..My computer froze this morning..just as I had a link to an article about families back in San Diego ..being concerned for their loved ones on the USS Ronald Reagan at the time.
I'm going to look for it.
"Many others are turning to the USS Reagan's Facebook page for updates and words of encouragement. On the page, one man wrote, "I am confident that the Navy will keep my son safe, he is in your hands."
Ganxet typed these pixels of light: "what this 8 sailors have to do to demostrate their illnes is from nuclear poisoning?"
SP: Data and logs can be purged, but eyewitness testimonies can be useful. One of the eight sailors is in his late thirties and may be at retirement age. If he has personal knowledge or perhaps even data sheets about high radiation then he might be the smoking gun.
The infant is also going to be exhibit A for radiation poisoning. It could get interesting depending on whether the sailors want money and an apology, or just money. If it is just money then I doubt there will be a trial. The Japanese nucleocrats will send a nice chunk their way in exchange for dropping the lawsuit. The question then becomes… Will that encourage 6,000 more sailors to do the same? Of 61,000 who were on bases in Japan and got doused also?
