What Is the United States Government Waiting for?

We continue to post the opinions of many international scientists on the potential global catastrophe that would result from the collapse of Reactor 4 at Fukushima Dai-ichi. The message now is simple and clear—Japan’s government will not act; it is the United States who must step forward—yet no action has been taken.

The United States government is the only other logical actor, and I find it very difficult to understand why they remain silent.

If this global catastrophe occurs, what will the world history books say?

the world book of history will not be read by anyone, because everyone's eyes will be bleeding to much to read anything… hmm too much?

    • StPaulScout StPaulScout

The U.S. Government will not be allowed to act. The Republicans constantly harp about the government being the problem, and when they are running it, they are correct. They have too much influence right now to allow the government to step in and 'fix' anything. The government 'fixing' something isn't part of the narrative they are pushing, so it will not be allowed to happen.

The two entities are one in the same serving the same unseen leaders. Yes, I know such comments will get the "conspiracy" nut label slapped on here but anyone with a mediocre intelligence who is not naive about the world we live in will realize this is the case.

    • lunamaria lunamaria

Yes, kintaman, I recognize this truth as well. We cannot look to political parties which are beholden to the corporatocracy for solutions that are beneficial to humankind or the planet. We must look within, recognize our connection to each other, and band together to lead.

      • StPaulScout StPaulScout

This is true, both parties DO cater to the same exclusive group, to the detriment of the rest of us. BUT, one group does seem to be a bit more willing than the other to involve government, raise the required tax money and do things that need to be done. The other group wants only to enrich themselves and damn everyone else. That's how I see it anyhow.

  • TheBigPicture TheBigPicture

They can't speed the process. It will be years before they can deal with it. And many more years until they can do more with the current melted reactors.

    • suzie-Q

I agree! They have said from the start that they will need 20-30 years to fix this and only if the technology exists by then. I believe that this is true. Everything else we hear is just day to day news unless there is a major change we will be subjected to radiation for years.

"…what will the world history books say?" They'll say America's treasury was long-ago stolen by the very organized crime network that promoted nuclear power. I'd suggest Akio Matsumura try passing the hat around Goldman-Sachs. America's working people have nothing left to give…

I know fukudeathmachine will bring about the end of the world eventually, but I do worry that banking system collapse will usher in a period of societal breakdown even before the radiation/health issue. We may die in the anarchy resulting, before the effects of radiation work their way through. Disturbing.

the power-elite have long used fear as a cudgel. I look at it as, they're coming with us…this time! Why should we under-right the arrogance of these 'power' brokers? I'm just curious if we're going to understand how fear is used to control us all? Let's put our hand in the box and tell them to bring it on. Instead of offering-up our meager resources to offset the losses upon those who got us here, I think it's time to use this catastrophe as an opportunity to break-free of this global dictatorship. And if any think that further compromise will change anything, ask if anything's gotten better for the people of Chernobyl. Keeping asking until you return to Nagasaki and Hiroshima and the fenced-off areas of the New Mexico testing grounds. Those who've brought us the horrors of the nuclear age were never interested in listening to the warnings. Why then, would we continue helping them to maintain their hegemonic control over the destiny of this planet? So, unless they're willing to do as – we – want, I say…BRING IT ON!!!

  • BreadAndButter BreadAndButter

If the US govmt. openly admitted that Fuku poses a risk so great that US personnel of any kind decided to step in – that could possibly lead to the public cognition that the overloaded SFP in US nukes pose just about the same threat in a densely populated country.
Which might be bad publicity for the nuke industry, so hush!

The US won't act, but private citizens like yourself can initiate action. Go out and find new technology, like Arnie Gunderson said we need at Fukushima!

Yesterday, I researched and found two new radiation technologies. I started working with 2-Senators & one Congressman to bring the two new technologies to the Fukushima battleground. I directly contacted the NRC for leads. Yes, they are slow. I did not end it there, I spent the last 12-hrs seeking the only other government's support with the knowledge and fortitude to act in this situation, the Ukrainian Government. I contacted every embassy in the world to petition their President and Military to send their military might to fight this disaster. It is the Ukraine that has suffered the most from Chernobyl's radiation. They feel Japan's pain. They alone have no wars fought with Japan. I have sent faxes and dozens of e-mails to their Consulates & Embassy's world-wide. I urge you all to do the same. All our lives, and the lives of our families, depend upon their Giant Helicopter's to lift pre-fab sea walls and pre-fab giant new reactor buildings. Their secret and new technology can save the world! If any government's offer to help fight this battle would be accepted by the Japanese people, it is the long suffering people of the Ukraine. • hbjon hbjon

Lead can be used to shield gamma and beta radiation, however, it is very important that alpha emitters never come in contact with elemental lead because of the way the two act and produce polonium and other hazardous materials. Lead is toxic. It can become even more toxic. If lead is used, it must be protected by layers of materials like concrete, steel, or plastic. We must not get too enthusiastic about lead. (I'm sure tptb have gold lined shelters and bunkers)

        • AGreenRoad AGreenRoad

Wow, we all have tons of useless gold sitting around in our basements; let's line some of the lead sheets we have draped around our houses with some gold bars, hammered out into gold foil.

They are waiting for SFP4 to fall. The minute it crumbles into radioactive dusts, the elites will head to Denver where their new city awaits deep in the underground.

      • demo demo

Nonsense re ptb moving underground in Denver or to the moon. Yes, they're prepared to shelter in temporarily, but it would have to be for decades or even centuries if none of the spent fuel pools worldwide are kept cool. Why would they want to spend their lives and their grandkids' underground or using oxygen tanks in space eating freeze dried food? They all have hearts/consciences deep down. It's common sense that they wouldn't want to destroy the planet. So those who are aware of the risk don't want unit 4 to collapse. There are some good, sane people in governments like Kucinich, Lee, Franken, Dona Edwards, Wyden. I say inform and lobby like our lives depend on it, and get others to. Naysaying is easier but is it more fun?

        • andii

hi demo, I didn't mention 'the moon' JFYI.
So you've got to answer why they have spent all that effort to build a huge (in miles) self-sustaining underground city then. It is currently sitting empty. I guess they just wanted to spend money and built one for the sake of it….building it then.

Hi bleep, I meant to say that I'm glad that not many people think the 311 EQ and tsunami were caused by the US govmt.

          • bleep_hits_blades

Why are you 'glad'? Seems to me this (figuring out the relationship, if any, of the global power elites to the triggering of the Fukushima and other recent quakes) is a subject for us to think about, not emote about.

There is plenty of evidence that HAARP could have been used to trigger the big quake, ditto the Haiti, Indonesia, and China quakes.

The elites (in their own words) want a huge reduction in global population – and a major 'reset' of the global power structure.

What rational/logical/empirical evidence do you have that tends to disprove or argue against the theory that HAARP was used?

Just 'being glad' – is not scientific – it's a feeling.

            • BreadAndButter BreadAndButter

I don't think a feeling I express needs to meet the standard of being "scientific". Besides, the theory of govmts causing EQs (either by haarp or nuke warheads put into an underwater faultline) surely don't meet scientific standards, either…

We're too busy laying waste to the ME with depleted uranium products.

  • chrisk9

There are two factors that I know that will prevent Japan from getting any help. First is the cultural factor where the Japanese people are a very proud people. They would lose face if the admitted they could not handle their own problem. When I worked there I worked for GE in a job that was too "hot" for the Japanese to do on their own. Yet we needed to be escorted by "interpreters" every second we were in the reactor building. We were not even allowed in certain areas at all. (this is very different from plants I worked in the USA and even Mexico.) When a fire occurred on the refueling floor in unit #1, TEPCO shaped the news release to minimize the threat it posed and discarded the report GE generated that pointed to other significant potential hazards.
Secondly I am sure the nuclear industry along with the NRC, IAEA and other groups will do everything in their power so this does not appear to be a situation out of control. (which of course it is)If a reactor in another country is out of control and requires other countries to run to the rescue, then of course nuclear power itself is put into question. There is too much money behind the industry for them to allow this to happen. They would rather just sit on their butt and hope that things work out. Going over there and working the problem would be admitting that the situation, and nuclear power itself is unmanageable.

    • BreadAndButter BreadAndButter

awesome analysis chrisk9. And your second point is why I say, let it burn. It – all – is already way-out of control. Stepping in to help only buys this industry that much more time to dance on the floor. I (and many others) want them booted from the floor! They're reckless and only think of their own immediate needs. If I had the means, I'd exile them from this planet…

BTW. I appreciate your courage to come forward with the truth. If you once had anything to do with this deadly technology, your honest and timely turn wins my support. Thank you Chris and know that you're loved by many out here…

Wife writes of divorcing radiation-scared Ozawa

"The wife of Democratic Party of Japan kingpin Ichiro Ozawa has divorced him, saying he fled Tokyo soon after the Fukushima nuclear crisis started last March out of fear of radiation, according to the weekly Shukan Bunshun, citing a letter it says she wrote to his supporters in November.

"Facing unprecedented catastrophe, politicians must be the first to stand up, but in fact Ozawa ran away with his secretaries because of fear of radiation," states the letter allegedly by Kazuko Ozawa."

    • richard richard

@Pu239 – what a telling letter that is .. straight from a political household.. and it reads as authentic.

It adds: "He escaped out of fear of radiation amid unprecedented disaster, and had no intention to grieve for the loss of family members of his supporters or help with the restoration of his hometown. I feel deeply ashamed of helping the man who tries to run politics on behalf of his own protection."

This is the situation we are dealing with, across the whole politcal spectrum of Japan and by extension the US.

It's been pre-empted here on enenews dozens of times at least .. there it is from a spouse. you wont get much closer.

Those looking for help from the US are "barking up the wrong tree".

  • US in Iowa just logged a massive but short radiation leak, and basically it was covered up, blamed on bad data. USA got its own mess to clean up, own system to change.

Funny how this Iowa paper is pointing the finger at Michigan for a radioactive leak, when Iowa also has some type of MASSIVE radiation leak, spiking to 7000 CPM or higher, compared to normal 20 to 30 CPM.

The Owl reported a few days ago that several internet forum users were worried about a possible spike in radiation readings at several radiation monitoring stations. Those concerns were dismissed by some as mistaken readings from uncalibrated counters.

I see said the blind man….and so the uncalibrated counters all started detecting the same thing at the same time…LOL, I guess that means they were calibrated with each other.

In Day of Deceit, Robert Stinnett delivers the definitive final chapter on America's greatest secret and our worst military disaster. Drawing on twenty years of research and access to scores of previously classified documents, Stinnett proves that Pearl Harbor was not an accident, a mere failure of American intelligence, or a brilliant Japanese military coup. By showing that ample warning of the attack was on FDR's desk and, furthermore, that a plan to push Japan into war was initiated at the highest levels of the U.S. government, he ends up profoundly altering our understanding of one of the most significant events in American history.

I expect the same scenario will play out for most countries that have Ratchild central banking and host Nuclear devices. I hope PPL realize the economic problems are a manufactured crises before thing get too out of hand.
Walter Burien does some great research about this

That's a simple one to figure out. Presidents or Goverments never work for the common good. Unfortunately it appears this current US goverment is very much in FAVOR of Nuclear Power and is aligned with Excelon and Abreva, and every other nuclear industry. Corporations own everything now.
