The DILs are simply not designed for the kind of ongoing fallout of multiple reactor meltdowns. It seems so easy to understand to me. All I can say is… "I don't get it?"
Maybe, it's because it would be an admission by a federal agency that we ARE experiencing continued fallout and it IS/WOULD affect somebody's bottom line.

That was 13 months ago… any new results will be suppressed by state and local officials. Much like the governor in Wyoming coerced the EPA to deep six the results of their fracking tests showing groundwater contamination attributable without doubt to fracking chemicals.

You should by all means go to the coast at Fort Bragg. Go to the town of Mendocino
and walk around. It is lovely there. Good to relax as best as you can. Enjoy the Pacific

Hi all. Formally entropy, had to update my moniker, too depressing.
Many reports of heart attacks that are unexplained lately and those with cancer seem to be succumbing to it.
My girlfriend has only a few days left. She was clean clean after chemo then whammo it was everywhere.

A neighbor here beat cancer last year,…or so he thought. Heard yesterday that it's back with him also,…everywhere!

I think you DEFINITELY should take your friends up on the offer and go visit them for a relaxing vacation! You deserve it! You don't necessarily have to swim to still enjoy the sunshine (wear sunscreen and cover your skin though).

Hi Bubha/Entropy. I am so sorry to hear about your girlfriend's cancer. Like you, I can't help but wonder if the seeming acceleration of her illness was caused by the extra radiation exposure from Fukushima.
I lost my mother a couple months ago. She had been in good health, though elderly, but after Fuku dropped high amounts of I-131 in her area in So. California (the highest found by the EPA), she had a stroke and started to have kidney failure, both signs of radiation exposure. Though her kidney function returned (after the I-131 wore off after 80 days or so, with its 8 day half-life), her health continued to decline after her stroke.
Sadly, lately, I've been hearing about too many cases of sudden cancers in people who die shortly after diagnosis. A friend's 43 year old friend in N. CA just passed away from stomach cancer after only receiving his diagnosis 2 months ago. So quickly!
What is going on???

in the plant studies I read, the presence of high levels of potassium and calcium in the soil reduced the uptake of cesium.
Very clear inverse relationship.
This is why Busby recommends that the Japanese children take potassium-calcium pills.
I did not read any research on humans but the applications seem like they should be identical to plants and follow the same logic as iodine.

In Italy we have a mineral water, "acqua di Frasassi"
which comes from a cave… and is rich in NON radioactive
Cesium-133… could it be useful to prevent Cesium-137
poisoning? Or Cesium is also a chemical toxic?

Too much Cs-133 can cause Long QT syndrome, which is a defect in heart rhythm. There is certainly a lot of Cs-133 in the environment already, since all the Xenon-133 emitted from Fuku decays into it… potassium is the better choice for preventing cesium absorption.

Eating BANANAS could also be a good idea… with their
big amount of potassium, which comes from tropical places…
(they are also naturally wrapped).
The only problem is that bananas are very fattening.
We shoud stop eating anything that is uncovered leafs
or it's grown in the open… we should prefere greenhouse
cultivations.

Potatoes are good potassium sources. The starchy kind.

Greenhouse cultivation will keep the rain off the produce but what about the airborne
radiation? Plants need to breathe fresh air. What about accumulation in the soils? Where
is the greenhouse soil coming from?–radioactive peat bogs? What about radiation in the
water fed to the plants in the greenhouse?
If it makes the grower feel safer (placebo effect) by all means build greenhouses.
Important to add extra potassium sulfate and calcium to your plants soil to help counter act
the uptake of cesium. Also do foliar sprays of calcium and potassium. Add charcoal to the
soil to absorb radiation. peel your carrots, apples. potatoes (organic).
These are small things we can do .
We all are faced with this worsening condition of ongoing contamination and
bio-accumulation. We do have to eat.

I am on the tractor preparing ground to plant here in N. Ca. Can't help but think
about these matters. Turning over the soil and amending it to help reduce the
cesium uptake. Will keep growing food till Fukushima ;makes life deadlier here on
the West Coast.
Farmers are risking their lives preparing the soil. Think about the dust created when the
soil is slowly worked. What's in the surface layers—remnants of reactor #3 mox fuel
plus all the other crap.
Someone has to grow the food.

the soil is moderately moist with top layer 2'" dry. here in ca. if we don't turn it over
now it gets brick hard. we usually have rains that stop in May. I do try my best
to avoid creating dust and work in a way that wind is blowing behind me as I work.
