People of the Earth Address the Fukushima Crisis

“Powerful technologies are out of control and are threatening the future of all life.”

“The Fukushima nuclear crisis alone is a threat to the future of humanity. Yet, our concern goes far beyond this single threat. Our concern is with the cumulative and compounding devastation that is being wrought by the actions of human beings around the world. It is the combination of resource extraction, genetically modified organisms, moral failures, pollution, introduction of invasive species and much, much more that are threatening the future of life on Earth.”

Chief Arvol Looking Horse, 19th Generation Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe and Spiritual Leader of the Great Sioux Nation, will present the Council Statement on Fukushima. [...]

Message from Chief Arvol Looking Horse, Oct. 28, 2001 (emphasis added): [...] To allow continual contamination of our food and land is now affecting the way we think. A “disease of the mind” has set in World Leaders [...] In our Prophecies it is told that we are now at the Crossroads: Either unite Spiritually [...] or be faced with chaos, disasters, diseases, and tears from our relatives eyes. [...] This new millennium will usher in an age of harmony or it will bring the end of life as we know it. Starvation, war, and toxic waste have been the hallmark of the Great Myth of Progress and Development that ruled the last millennium. [...] You yourself are the one who must decide. You alone – and only you – can make this crucial choice, to walk in honor or to dishonor your relatives. On your decision depends the fate of the entire World. Each of us is put here in this time and this place to personally decide the future of humankind. Did you think the Creator would create unnecessary people in a time of such terrible danger? Know that you yourself are essential to this World. Believe that! Understand both the blessing and the burden of that. You yourself are desperately needed to save the soul of this World. Did you think you were put here for something less? In a Sacred Hoop of Life, there is no beginning and no ending!

Chicago Tribune, Oct. 1, 2006 (emphasis added): For more than a decade, hundreds of thousands of Native Americans trekked to Dave Heider’s farm to visit Miracle, a rare white buffalo they viewed as a prophecy of peace on Earth. When Miracle died two years ago and the visitors stopped coming [...] in August, Heider discovered a newborn white calf nuzzling its mother in a pasture. [...] When Miracle was born in 1994, members of the Lakota Sioux Tribe in South Dakota deemed her the first white buffalo born on U.S. soil since 1933. [...] Scientists say three things in nature can cause this kind of spontaneous genetic mutation: radiation, chemical exposure and a natural accident in the process of the cell duplicating DNA [...] To many Sioux who traveled to Heider’s farm, Miracle represented the return of the sacred spirit of the White Buffalo Calf Woman who first appeared to the Indians some 2,000 years ago when tribe members were dying of starvation. [...] Before leaving, the woman told the Indians she would reappear one day, signifying the return of peace to Earth. As she walked away, the woman turned into a young buffalo, turning four colors–black, red, yellow and white. Miracle’s coat changed color three times–from white to black to yellow and then to red. [...] Arvol Looking Horse, a Lakota tribal chief who is the 19th-generation keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf pipe, said Miracle would have had to change color a fourth time–back to white–for the Indian prophecy to be fulfilled. “To us, this new calf brings another rebirth, and tells us have the faith and belief that if we unite and respect each other, we will see change,” he said.

Just like Chernobyl, Hanford, et al. they will be affecting life in those areas far longer than humans even live here. It's pathetic to see scientists who know the millions of years half-lives of some of the radioactive isotopes say maybe thousands of years. A TINY difference. lol Now extrapolate into the next 10,000 years, will over a billion lives be lost? Will future generations live in contaminated places and not know, while wondering why everyone is so sick? Look at Fallujah. So sad.

I agree with Looking Horse, we have to make the choice and not let the leaders or fear dictate our minds and our hearts. Stand with us and be with us in this great time of the end. Yes it is time to stand and fight the oppressions of man and help to heal our mother. She is the life giver and we have eaten her with greed and hunger for power/energy.

Yes but I did not read anything about fighting just that every individual was put here to make sound decisions concerning Mother Earth and to walk in honor for in the hoop of life there is no beginning, no end. That was my understanding of Chief Looking Horse.

"Fighting" is just a generality. Like not taking things they way they are or how you are told they are. Working to make them different and better, even if that takes "a fight." We tend to think of "fight" as aggressive, but unfortunately this "fight" seems to be purely defensive, to save what we can. I'm sure you relate.

As I sit here sipping zeolite in water with a couple of drops of nascent iodine, my soul is crying inside. But I don't cry. Even that seems to have lost its salty hunger for better prospects.

We were going to order zeolite, but some research on it stopped us. We do know that sometimes good remedies get bad press, but we also want to be sure that what we're getting is effective and safe. Zeolite absorbs toxins, heavy metals, radioactivity, a lot of bad things. So maybe if it is NOT purified right before it is sold, it may contain what it's already absorbed, and actually be harmful! We don't know that, no, but we want a better take on it before we spring.

WNTF–This is simply my opionion, but perhaps it will make sense for you.

Zeolite, along with bentonite clay and other such "absorbers"–must come into contact with the substance that you want it to absorb. It does not "hang around" in your system–it goes through the GI tract just like any other undigestible input (i.e. fiber).

Unless, of course, you drink it or eat it along with every single thing you put into your mouth.

That said. None of the absorbers will effect inhaled particles. The respiratory system is completely separate from the GI tract–and if you recall–the gentleman Manager from Fukushima died of esophageal cancer–the particles were, in all likelihood, lodged in his esophagus or inhaled (the trachea lies parallel to the esophagus).

Please–keeping yourself as healthy as possible is WONDERFUL, and it gives you better odds of recovering from ARS. But what we are discussing is that this is not an acute exposure–this is a situation of long-term, chronic exposures that have cumulative damage effects on your DNA (replication) and tissues (inflammation).

YouTube has wonderful, short videos on how each system works called the "One Minute Medical School" series. They are simplistic, but effective–they'll give you a solid basis for making decisions about where your hope might lie.

Understand as well, that these unregulated (haha!) supplements are of unknown origin–and can be subject to the same "unscrupulous mixing" that is happening…

Thought about that, too. It seems to me that if some toxin's already locked into the cage structure of the zeolite, it should stay in it. If there is any room left in it or still an electrical charge difference left, the structure and its charge should sop up a little more.

I just thought it was time to try something new. I am tired of feeling blah. All this bad news might kill me. Someone said people who fall out of airplanes without a parachute die of a heart attack, not hitting the ground.

I meant to try a round of it again just to see if I got a different result, but never got around to it.

I have taken it for about 4 days and I am taking a break from it for today anyway. I took a tablespoon in a half gallon of water the first day, and then found out that it was supposed to be just a teaspoon and cut back the next three days to a teaspoon. I sure felt strange that first couple of days, not in a real bad way. One thing I noticed was how I could smell things better (I smoke to much tobacco probably). Taste improved. Cigarettes tasted GREAT!
Energy was improved I thought, but I was also drinking more water, which probably helps without the zeolite. Dreams were getting more intense. Last night as I was going to sleep, I saw what looked like a web page complete, but blurry. I tried to read it and it disappeared. The mind has power I wish I could control. Maybe the nascent iodine is increasing hormones. I read that it helps with hormones.
I have taken medications from the doctors that made me feel stranger than zeolite.

It's hard to figure out what is right to do. I read some positive things about a tree named soursop today, but when I looked it up on webMD, it said every claim was unproven, and it was a nerve killer! Quite the contrast.

Just wanted to add this… last night I felt Great for a little while. Haven't been able to say that in a little while. I got this little bottle of oreganol at a discount store down the street . They get discontinued and outdated food but can sell it for a year after the expiration date. I got this bottle for a dollar. It expires in 2014. I looked it up online and first place I went to wanted 40 bucks for the little bottle. I rubbed it all over my feet. Online search results said it helped with athlete's foot. I don't have that, but I work in wet conditions with rubber boots and every day my socks are wet. That's a bit beside the point, but wow! I don't know if it was just the oreganol or the combination with the other stuff. I found out that dandruff is really caused by a fungus or something. It seemed to help greatly. Too bad it is forty bucks. I probably will never have any ever again.

For dandruff and athlete's foot, use apple cider vinegar as a rinse for hair and to soak your feet. It is a weak acid (read the label on the bottle) and kills the fungus that causes dandruff and athlete's foot. Also, take a half a shot glass of it chased with a bit of water to stop heart burn.

Be aware anything that's a binder (like zeolite, clay) can also bind (and deplete) minerals in your body. You'll need to replenish the minerals. Take the zeolite at least two hours before or after taking a supplement.

            • Clay/zeolite binds with heavy metals/radioactive ones and chelates them.

It can also pull toxins out from the outside of the body, which is why animals when sick or injured seek out clay/mud and roll in it.

Parrots eat clay in the S. American jungles.. whole flocks come in and gather around clay banks.

This whole thing is turning out to be like a bad Roland Emmerich science fiction "end of the world" film…

The native american leader I've never heard of comes out to talk about the forests and the spirits and that if mankind doesn't change they will destroy the world.

Next the Morgan Freeman like President of the United States will make an announcement to the world that the end may be near.

Then after that, the young beautiful reporter tries to get to the bottom of what's really happening, only to find out the truth and that we are truly screwed.

Then the crap really hits the fan and half of us die…

But in the ruins of what used to be civilization…there is hope!

    THE END

[CREDITS ROLL and sad but stoic movie score plays]

    And then…

A bloody hand comes out of the rubble and ruins and reaches for the sky. CUT TO BLACK.

    "COMING SOON: CIVILIZATION 2"

I remember seeing The China Syndrome when I was a kid. It really disturbed me, but I never thought it would actually happen. But it did and The Fukushima Daiichi Incident is far worse than the scenario in the movie. :(

I remember when TMI happened too. I was only six years old, but I remember my babysitter gasping at the news. I remember seeing the those ugly white reactors and knowing in my gut that something really horrible happened. Now that I look back on my childhood during the 80s I realize that I was born into a world that was seemingly in decline even back then.

The threat of HIV took a good part of the fun out of sex and AIDS came about right when I hit puberty, so I never really knew a world where sex couldn't kill you. So sad. Now I have to get used to the idea of the food, water and air killing me too?

I feel sorry for the children of the world. Children who are alive today were born into a hostile world that wants to kill them. What does that do to the psyche? Time will tell.

I have known Arvol for many years..less than some…more than others and have heard this story before several fires. I have seen with my own eyes this power, this Chief of Chaos, and we are all that stands in its way. It's weapons are doubt and disunity and sadness and fear, and it will succeed only if we do nothing to stop it..The question, therefore is not so much "what can we do" , rather it is "what will we do"…and the answers can only be found in the very act, the movement, within the doing. Let no one define the truth that resides within us, for those who try are without truth, without honor, and ultimately, without power. They are the preachers of death and cannot abide life, any life, that is their purpose, to bring about the "end". And so let our power, our purpose be to bring about life, new and mysterious, let us defend and protect what is and honor in our souls the memories of what was, may we be the agents of life's perpetuation, the harbingers of love and light and justice, and may we turn away from this black road of destruction, and leave those who chose death to be on their way upon it. My relatives, may your days be long upon this, our beautiful home, and may the battles we wage for her be engaged with honor.

Pick up now, my brother's and sisters, what weapons you would choose, and lest us join the fray for the hope and promise of another sunrise and a beautiful day. Hoka!!

obeone, I have always been a bird watcher and set up feeders around my house which is in the Traverse City, MI area. My home backs up to a state forest and for the past 18 months, I have not heard nor seen any of the small songbirds that included; chicadees, yellow finches, titmouse, house sparrows, and nuthatches. I used to have Mourning Doves that nested under the front porch for the winter, close to the feeders. I hear crows, red tail hawks, and large pilated woodpeckers. On the lakeshore there are gulls. There are an abundance of wild turkeys which I feed as well as some deer in the winter. Today, I finally took down all of the feeders. One reason that my father fed the bird population was that they ate the insects. The strangest happening around my property, even with 20 degree temps, are the clouds of mosquitos that cling to the warmth of the house and can be seen on the windows. The Passenger Pigeon met the fate of extinction because they were hunted and eaten…their favorite food was mosquitos. Stranger still, there seem to be no awareness of the ecological changes by other people.

Michele, I am sorry that you had to take down your bird feeders and you personally loss some joy that made your world a better place and you too are now being affected. I have seen baby dead birds inside several nests this past year. Mom may have been eaten by a cat, but I do not think that would account for the massive drop in small bird populations across the entire US.

The nuclear radiation contamination is a subtle false energy that starts at the bottom of the food chain and then moves up to the larger animals. First was the disappearance of bugs on the ground, then the spiders, and then the flying insects and then the bats and now its moving up higher in the food chains. The larger predator birds can still survive as the pluck out and eat the carcasses of all the smaller ones below that pass from the lack of food (bugs) below them.

This same process is occurring right now in the Pacific Ocean food chains and none if this is rocket science to see and/or understand. It's all very sad that such a negative "Nuclear 3 Core Meltdown Event" would/could do so much damage to our combined intertwined ecosystems and biosphere in such a short period of time. :(

And the dam of the reservoir in the mountains broke and the reservoir on the plains which they are now using for drinking water in the city has had the same pesticide sprayed on it many times every year for 10 years.

In 1973 & 1983 Sterling E. Lanier wrote 2 books "Hiero's Journey" & "Unforsaken Hiero" ( sadly he died before he could finish the trilogy ).

The books take place 5000 years from now and are about one man's journey through a world changed by a nuclear holocaust, and populated by mutations of every type, most of them lethal.

And I find myself wondering, is this what our descendants have to look forward.

I have crap/shit growing all over me…I am being changed/morphed/mutated right now! :)

Everyone should check just incase something weird suddenly shows up out of nowhere.. :)

These could be tumors, extra legs, a couple of new fingers, bump like third eye on the forehead, several toe nails that might be discolored or mutated, strange heart beats or maybe a second heart, wrinkles that twitch for no reason, scaly dry skin like a lizard, tiny bumps where the rain fell on you, discoloration of skin on legs, near the ground or on your feet, ears that itch or maybe have a new one growing next to the existing one and if a tail shows up.. you are screwed. :(

I would say any of these signs might be Radiation Contamination trouble… :(

I'm figuring out what Beta means. Is the following correct? From http://majiasblog.blogspot.com where the discussion is about converting between Beta CPM and millisieverts. 18 days at a level of 700 CPM Beta is said on that blog to be equal to about 10 times the yearly EPA limit of 1 millisievert. If I divide by two, a reading of 350 CPM Beta (average) would be about 10 times the yearly limit of EPA in 36 days. An average reading of 175 CPM Beta would give one TEN times the yearly EPA value in 72 days. Minneapolis is currently showing about 162 CPM Beta, so somewhere in the area of every 90 days they are getting 10 times the recommended yearly dose. Four quarters in a year makes the yearly dose at around 40 times recommended radiation limit.
.. There are very few Beta reporting stations on NETC.com. Is there any way to rough guess from a Gamma reading of 600 in Montana what the Beta reading might be? If I divide by 10 and say it might be 60 CPM if measured in Beta, is that about right? Or divide by 7? Or is there just not a good way to do this? Would it be better to just look at the very few Beta stations reporting instead of being concerned about the Gamma stations?

<sigh> Byron–the EPA "limits" are set by the NRC and the nuclear industry. These are not safe levels, they are "within the acceptable range" of the known effects of radiation. This means, that they have an actuarial table of risk, and as long as that risk can be hidden (it is) or the outcomes can be attributed to other factors-the "limits" stand. The type of radiation is "more important" than concentration. Although alpha and beta are weaker emitters, they can be just as lethal, depending on how the exposure occurs (int. vs. ext. emitters) and the type of isotope.

The detectable amounts of radioactive particles in the air changes from millisecond to millisecond–you need a long period of time to collect data, and even then, you have to factor in things like wind changes and velocity. Remember many of those particles come down in rain/snow as well. We won't go into noble gases. You get my point.

There are many other sources of radioactive particles as well. The dirt under your feet. Burning firewood. Food (particularly meat)
I understand your wanting to know, to pin it all down. The variables are innumerable. It's herding cats. While you and many others are busy trying to untangle the skein of f***upedness–the "decision makers" are destroying what's left of this planet.

THIS is what I wished the inventors of these technologies stopped to think about before loosing them on the world. Forward vision, consequences.

S-I’ve read Zinn’s works, and 149X. All classics and should be required reading in schools (I’d include others, and eliminate Columbus Day as a holiday, but that is a digression).

”… the threat to future of humanity — 2001 Quote: “Contamination of our food and land now affecting way we think… disease of the mind has set in World Leaders… faced with chaos, disasters, diseases… end of life as we know it…”? Eloquent statements. I humbly bow toward this level of spoken wisdom and foresight from the past.

Let me share with us a parallel reality as deserving as the blindness shown toward NPP. Risk related to small, strange accidents that have unintended consequences around complex nuclear technologies and the continued government secrecy protocol under which nuclear power bureaucracies operate.

The continued practice of classifying nuclear related information has nothing to do with national security. It is intended to cover information which would otherwise be embarrassing to bureaucracies which have an understood fiduciary role. Keeping the public in the dark allows bureaucracy to operate with impunity. It is only through public awareness and engagement that the realities of human hubris can be confronted and the dangers avoided.

Try to envision performing maintenance on a Titan 2 missile in Damascus, Arkansas on a steel platform and a wrench is accidentally dropped into the hardened nuclear missile silo which punctures highly volatile pressurized rocket propulsion fuel under a 9 megaton weapon (9,000 kilos; In comparison to Big Boy, this is 562 time larger) presenting the possibility of the incineration of all of Arkansas. These type of accidents occur often and are not reported. Should the public be informed? If you think yes, then do what you can to uncover the veils of secrecy, not just in the arena of NPP but a nuclear military.

On the harvest, here at the front range of the CO Rockies we had a late freeze in the Spring, about April 22, so we had no fruit harvest. The tomatoes, peppers, squash, and greens did alright, though.

There are fewer birds. And, with all of the frac pollution that spread, because of the recent flooding rains, I can only imagine that many more have met their sad fate. And, many thousands of acres, here and down river, rendered incapable of growing anything now, forever.

On radiation-induced changes (likely) I note lesser energy generally, but part of this may also be a deepening depression about these disasters. And, oddly there have been specific points on the body where very intense pain magnifies, but only for a few moments, and then goes away.

There is so much birdsong, chickens under the house waiting for a morning feed clucking in anticipation….saw a flock of of toucans, 16 a few days ago passing. Japan exodus to West Coast Canada to Belize. I advice many to do the same. The cleanest water out of a Maya well buried on top of a hill for 3000 years. Life is hopeful and abundant. Daughter left Japan and got grounded with her native land in Yellow Knife. Our exodus landed us in Belize almost a year ago Dec. 18 just before the Maya calendar. I don't see much said about the calendar but I believe we reached the tipping point then. Survival is my reality, and trying to save as much as I can nurture back to life. In Hospital in Japan, I often looked out at the concrete jungle with everyone rushing around for what?…. well my students always talked about convenience. Nothing in this Economic growth reality makes any real sense to me. Here in the jungle life still thrives with a meaning. Saw another of the Story Of stuff" productions. The Story of Solutions….so simple so true.
Help to turn Belize into the first nation reserve, is the big picture. All those solar panels, wind generators, the new clean technology..put to use to stop the large corporations eating up this environment for more. Small third world country that could be the richest place in the world if we could just keep it clean.
Once I get started hard to control all these connections that flood my brain. I will write more later.

Our food supply was/is already contaminated by massive amounts organophosphate cocktails, growth hormones and gross ingesting of antibiotics, millions of tons of other insecticides and herbicides used annually . Add to that scary GMO foods and the ubiquitous sugar in our foods.

Now, we have FUFU and the promise of more failures in the nuclear industry – not to mention the con'ted mining wastes of uranium in the water supply and past nuclear releases – Chernobyl's poison is still there in much of western Asia's and Europe's food chain.

Face it, we live in an increasingly toxic world. It is not just FUFU. And there is little to be done about FUFU at the point either.

We need to find a way to live well and not better.

Mandate birth control – A one child per person policy worldwide. This would drop the population 25% per generation. Target 1 billion humans in 100 years.. This is a brutal necessity – it would have to be brutally enforced too.

We must find a way to restrain the gross accumulation of private property immediately. A 90% tax globally on earnings over $100,000.

Impose a 20 hecture limit on privately held farm land and a 100 hecture limit for grazing only land.. No private use of farm pesticide chemicals – only state and emergency applied.

Mandate solar wind and wave/tidal energy production now.

An immediate 500% tax increase on all the carbon fuels.

Close all nuclear power plants now..

Encourage the population not to work…

Thank you Igmz for your words of hope and truth. I, too, am with the Chief. His wisdom is very old and consistent with quantum physics. We dream our reality into being with our minds as well as our actions. Reality is never a done deal. Any skeptics should look into research on the placebo effect. It is not just something that gets in the way of real scientific results but an example of the power of mind over matter. Example: a control group who were told they had surgery on their damaged diseased knees but did not, only went through the motions, had much better and lasting outcomes than those who actually had the surgery. Disabled individuals who believed they had corrective surgery in some cases went on to compete in athletic events!
There is no reason to lose hope. Many gifted healers are working on this tragic problem. Every individual can help by living a life of gratitude and envisioning a healed planet. As has been said by one wiser than I, "God is in the darkness as well as the light."

Fukushima: Tokyo Electric Admits Total 80 Spent Fuel Assemblies Had Damages Before the Nuclear Accident
    NOVEMBER 16, 2013 EX-SKF
It was revealed that 70 fuel assemblies in the Reactor 1 at Fukushima had had damages before the March 11, 2011 earthquake/tsunami.
The damaged assemblies are about one-quarter of the 292 spent fuel assemblies stored in the pool.
There are three damaged fuel assemblies inside the Reactor 4.
The Reactor 2 has three damaged fuel assemblies, and the Reactor 3 has four, making the total of damaged fuel assemblies 80.
Technologies to remove damaged fuel haven't been established.
Tokyo Electric has postponed the removal of the damaged assemblies as it is difficult to remove them in a normal manner.

The launcher's 740 ton lid was blown off from the explosion from the missile fuel. Read more about it here:

      Pj-glad this resonated with you.

I referenced this incident in the broader context of man’s technological hubris and the secrecy which prevents enlightenment of broader swaths of the public. There's been discussion here recently on action vs. talk.

Both have legitimate use and purpose. A debate on the facts of NP or NW cannot occur if the facts are nowhere to be found. Nuclear bureaucracies tend to classify information not because of national security, but because the information is embarrassing to the government, and in many cases, the facts are simply outrageous.

I encourage all to read Command and Control: Nuclear Weapons, the Damascus Accident, and the Illusion of Safety, by Eric Schlosser.

“…a ground-breaking account of accidents, near-misses, extraordinary heroism, and technological breakthroughs in America's nuclear arsenal system. Schlosser discusses how the combination of human fallibility and technological complexity in the nuclear area still poses a grave risk to mankind.”

For those who cannot afford to buy the book or just want to listen to the informative 30 minute interview by Host Kathleen Stephenson starting at about 3 min. it can be found here:

  • It is good to see more people become aware of the Fukushima crisis. Even Native Americans in the Dakotas know about it. People are jaded and one symptom of that is the low voter turnout. Not laziness but the perception that most politicians are useless lying thieves propping up a contrived economy which makes the rich richer and the rest of us expendable. The problem is more then Fukushima. Fukushima is one symptom of many. We collectively need to kick the bums out. Not participating in their economy, where ever possible is one good start.
