The video, taken Wednesday using an endoscope, shows an area around a pipe that sits about 8.5 meters from the bottom of the containment vessel. The scattered debris that is visible is believed to be damaged parts of the vessel’s internal structure.

The investigation revealed that a 7.5-centimeter-thick lead plate had disappeared from inside the vessel, presumably lost after the hydrogen explosion March 12.
Temperatures inside the containment vessel rose to more than 700 C three days after the explosion, meaning the plate probably melted. The melting point of lead is 327 C.

India infant mortality rate during the nuclear era had its peak during 1946 to 1950 of 203.8 per 1000 live births per year. They were a very grave period in Indian history during the nuke era. The NE Monsoon blows over into India from the area beyond the Himalayas including Kazakstan. The great importance of this clip lies in the fact that Fukushima may repeat this jump in infant mortality for India from 2012 and beyond is the disaster phase for India-the lead gone and the coriums missing. I expect with the Fukushima nuke explosions India may experience 84 million infant deaths based on 1200 PBq of Sr90 released just during the explosions after March 11 2011, compared with 477 PBq of Sr90 released during 1945-1997 resulting in 23 to 29 million infant mortalities. Note that the variations in Sr 90 yearly releases during 1945 to 1997 completely match the variations in Infant Mortality in India during this period. It is a very serious matter and with the cumulative effects of modern civilization, in particular the dam dynamics which caused the Fukushima explosions a certainty every hydrological year, every nuclear reactor is at risk of such nuclear explosions. This is the extinction scenario with the nukes. Please shut them all and manage the wastes.

The nuclear industry keeps repeating the spin that FUKU is only 10% of Chernobyl. To hide the extent of the disaster, only Japan land based radiation is counted, and then only for a brief period with only one item, such as cesium, with assumptions that defy reality; like no drying out of pools, no nuclear explosions, and no melt down/through of ANY nuclear materials.
What non industry experts are saying is the FUKU is MUCH WORSE than Chernobyl, due to the fact that there many more reactors melting through, spent fuel pools melting down, burning and fissioning, with thousands of tons of fuel, compared to several hundred at Chernobyl.
Simple math allows the above assumptions, that FUKU released multiples of cesium, strontium, uranium, iodine, and plutonium compared to Chernobyl…
The only saving grace that Japan has is that 80-90% of all of that poison went out over the Pacific ocean, or into it.

Didn't communist Russia have the power over the people to clean up the NUKE mess?(as if cleaning up the NUKE mess means something for real)… And doesn't Capitalist nuke Japan lack that power over the people to use them as being disposable?

In the first place Chernobyl isn't cleaned up. Russia is importing nuclear waste today into their own country and their nuclear contamination all over Russia is not cleaned up, but absolutely appalling. Fires in Russia spread radionuclides all over, including even here is the US. And radiation was spread from Chernobyl here to the US also.
No way to get rid of the radiation. Only ways to make it even worse.

Agreen, may I add that Fuku reactors were much older than Chernobyl thus the meltdowns were much more hazardous,so to speak, than Chernobyl plus they managed to contain the Chernobyl meltdown to an extent vs Fuku and my understanding is old fuel is much more toxic and messy than new fuel. Also location, location, location.
